Thought I would start a thread on the build of my model.
Using the extra Hobby Design photo etch kit to bring out a bit more detail on it.

Just starting off removing all the parts that require painting semi gloss black.
Just spent an hour building the photoetch windscreen wipers. Absolute bitch to build but worth the time and effort.

Built up the rear subframe too.

Nice start, I have the same kit and photo etch in the stash so watching with interest!
 
Its not an easy build but very rewarding (y)

I sometimes look at these kits and think it’s a worthwhile purchase to bring the model up a bit. Can sometimes be a little fiddly to bond parts together. The windscreen wipers were prime example. You have to have some patience
 
The worst bit were the mirrors, they come in 4 parts and are a pain to stick onto the doors, also the front wheels turn, don't make the mistake of gluing the steering and suspension together like I did - it can only go straight on now :D:rolleyes:

I’ll check them out before physically gluing anything.
I’ve built a lot of models in my time so this one to me seems pretty straightforward.
It’s when you try and add all your own details when it starts to get tricky.
This is a Spitfire I built a few years back.

100%. I usually work in 1/72 (mainly aeroplanes but some armour and vehicles) and it certainly makes a difference, although in that scale you can be selective on what extra detail to add.

This’ll be my first car and first large scale model, and I’m already wondering where to draw the line! Certainly needs cables, seat belts, etc adding.

Yes I certainly will be adding some cables. I built a Tamiya Lotus 7 recently and it made a massive difference. Obviously better in the flesh.
