I need to buy a set of UHP summer tyres in 255/35/18 for new rims next month. They are for road use. I have a shortlist of tyres I like in that size but keen to hear about other options!

* SportContact 7 - used them on a BMW before really like them.

* Eagle F1 supersport - Used them on an Audi before, cheapest option, ok in general but less wet weather capable than others.

* Potenza Sport Evo - not used them before, reviews look strong, same price as continentals.

I recently did a track day in my GRY with Michelin Primacy 4 tyres, the track was damp in places, then wet, then aqua planning at 90 mph and finally mostly a dry track.
I cannot fault these tyres for track days or your daily commute .

Yokohama A052 (edit : Excellent even on the wet !) or Bridgstone Race (edit : Have not tried these yet, but reviews are very positive)

I found SportContact 7 improved the steering feel. I bought them because they performed better in testing (and are a newer design) than the PS4Ss, but it also doesn't hurt that they were cheaper. Too soon to compare wear.

Only tried PS4S and SportContact 7. Of the two the Continentals definitely give better feedback on turn-in, more immediate than the Michelins.

Ultimate grip and wear is about the same so, with the SC7 being cheaper, they are an easy recommendation.

My next summer tyres will likely be Cup 2.

Ive gone for the Bridgestones. Wanted to test a new tyre. Prices were very similar.
