Toyota GB allocated me a grim number plate, but it hasn’t spoilt the car for a moment!

Paint corrected, ceramic coating sorted, AWE Track ordered and the ‘correct’ JDM rear plate fitted. Really frames the rear end better to my eyes!

Now all I need is the GR big brake kit and to get that irritating fake noise turned off!

Was really worried about the red, it was the easy choice with all the press cars being red. Seeing it in the flesh for the first time though and then having it detailed, it looks brilliant. Replaced my 3.0 Pro Supra and it’s a better car in every way. Won’t beat it in a drag race, but it’s better in every other department!

Welcome to the GR86 family! The red is a timeless colour for sports coupes.

Looking forward to your exhaust comparison.

Welcome fellow member of the “I’ve swapped my GR Supra for a GR86” club! That makes at least 3 of us that I know of now. Glad to hear you’re loving it, it seems odd to say it, but these are much more fun and involving to drive, despite being much slower in a straight line. It’ll be interesting to know what your exhaust sounds like once you get it, as the sound is one of the few things that let the GR86 down.

I see you're another "double-you-you seventy-two". So, like myself, you can look forward to having to deal with that tongue twister whenever quoting your reg number over the phone for insurance quotes, parts enquiries, etc :/

You're braver than me ordering the track edition, I went with the touring edition, but you're gonna love it. Rough cold start, but very enjoyable everywhere else.
Get that fake engine noise disabled asap, i found having an aftermarket exhaust with the fake noise to be a lot of noise confusion that wasn't in tune.

It’ll be much quieter than my recently de-catted ‘05 JDM Impreza STI. This will be practically silent compared to that!
Touring edition is probably the better choice. The 86 is my daily and only goes 6 miles, so a little bit of drone will only offend my ears for 10 minutes at a time 😂

The Red is nice, but am I the only person pissed off paying for a Pearl that isn't a Pearl?

@DarthHideous Yuck looks great with those photo angles, I'm so glad I picked red.

It looks like you are. Am I bothered it was the most expensive colour? No, knowing how little 30k is for a new car nowadays. I liked the colour, not because of what it was named but how it looks.

It was clear from the get go before the official colour names were announced it wasn't 'pearl' and it was only a term used in the UK market, elsewhere it came under a 'Special' colour or not mentioned at all.

It's not like it wasn't clear what it looked like, the GR86 release colour was red, there were hundreds of photos of it.

It was the same with the electric blue, adveritsed as pearleascent when it wasn't, it's not even metallic, it's just flat.
Ultimately I would have paid for it anyway, because it's the colour I wanted, but it is a bit galling that they seemed to claim it was pearlescent just to justify the higher price - I'd rather they were just honest and said it was just that price because it was a popular colour or something.

It’s just one of those things car companies have done for all of time.
The colour could be called ‘Fantastical Spectacular Rouge Hyper Xirallic’ but the reality is, it’s the same paint used on old London buses.
Regardless. Sign me up and take my money Toyota 😂

The spoiler really finishes it off. Managed to get it pre-painted from Fensport in the end. My local dealer is a bit poor at returning calls so I gave up
