As I write this it's 20 days until Monte Carlo Rally 2026. Predictions for the final year of Rally1 / Rally2 as we know it? Anyone planning on attending and WRC rallies this year?

I will be 100% heading for Estonia and Finland again this year but saving my pennies (or should I say cents now I live in the eurozone) for a crazy road trip in my GR to Rally Monte Carlo in 2027 to catch the first ever round with the new regulation cars.

My prediction is Oliver Solberg will win the championship this year.

I went to my first WRC event, Monte Carlo, in 2025 and loved it. I don't think I'll make another one this year but most definitely will in the future. Rally Wales was obviously a firm fixture on the WRC calendar of old, hopefully that will be a WRC round again one day.

I can't wait for the season to start in Monte Carlo. I'd really like Elfyn to win the championship so hopefully he can find that little bit of extra speed along side his consistency. I'm also a Solberg fan so curious to see how he fares in a Rally1 car. I believe Seb is signed up for 10 out of 14 rounds so he's got to feature in the championship fight...

I remember the days of Wales Rally GB fondly in the early 2000's, freezing my knackers off in a south welsh forest in November. Miss those days, even had a girlfriend who lived in Cardiff where Parc Ferme was which was handy for rally weekend. I hope it becomes a WRC round again someday.

Going to be a good year this year I think.

In top devision, yes. But Harri Rovanpära was WC in 2 litre class... By that criteria, they seconded that by becoming the second father-son pair to become world champions in top and support category.

Well I hope Oliver wins, would be good for Sweden, but I fear he is still at risk of crashing too much over a whole season even though it does look better than before.
 
Oli Solberg is such a great guy, as is Takamoto, I hope that these guys are at the top, as Evans of course.
I watch all of DirtFish's content on youtube, about the best coverage that I can find.
