Glad to see Estonia back on the calendar for next year! Was planning a trip for Finland but every hotel for 2025 already sold out Jyväskylä so I’ll stick to home turf with another round somewhere else - maybe Monte, maybe Sweden!

Incompetence of Croatian government is nothing new to me, been living here for 43+ years now, but losing out on a WRC round really p*sses me off!
Don't get me wrong, I support expanding and rotating the calendar, but we lost WRC 2025 only due to corrupted and braindead government. Wouldn't surprize me we lose out on '26 and '27 as well, only a little time left to get all gov. insurances and permits.

Still no Rally GB 😭
I miss the days of Rally GB being the final one on the calendar in the late 90s/early 2000s. Fond memories of freezing to death in welsh forests. Even managed to blag myself into the official WRC afterparty in a Cardiff Nightclub in 2002 after being offered some tickets from Marshalls on Parc Ferme as they could not make it. It was surreal being at a bar with Colin McCrae, Richard Burns, seeing Petter Solberg and the entire Subaru team partying and celebrating his maiden WRC Rally win. I really do hope the Rally GB returns, especially to the old stages of Mid/South Wales. Cardiff was a really cool Rally HQ.

Went to a Friday service with PH in 2016 (yes a Friday) snagged one of 50 pairs of tickets so hung out with them on the Sweet Lamb stage for most of the day. Yes it was typical UK weather, low mist, drizzle, damp, cold for a big chunk of it, proper bobble hat weather :ROFLMAO: I remember before the stage got going a marshall/course car came through (a big 5 cylinder Volvo IIRC) and he was having more fun than he should have been

Pajari has a full time drive in a Rally1 Yaris with TGR for 2025. Seb staying part time. Kalle, Elfyn and Katsuta all with Full time for 2025.

I'm stoked to have just booked flights for me and son to head to WRC Monte Carlo next weekend.

Does anyone have any tips for must see places, stages etc. ? Any input gratefully received.

Fun rally this weekend. I was not there live, but watched on Rally TV through the weekend. Kalle got some pace in the later stages, so thats a good sign I guess.

Also Elfyn was quicker. Ogier with a 10th win was great, but I must say I cheer a bit extra for the full time drivers as the drivers championship is the one I hold the highest.

So, WRC Monte Carlo was my first WRC event - at short notice, I went with my son and we had an absolute blast. Watching the cars was amazing, navigating around the rally stages was a like a Motorsport version orienteering crossed with a treasure hunt. We ended up searching through woods and mountains for stage viewing points and hitch hiked lifts with locals whose 4x4 (quatre quatre!) would go places out fiat 500 wouldn't.
I was amazed how close up we could get to drivers, crews and cars on the stages and at service centre in Gap. Rally fans are great fun and most of the marshalls are up for a craic too.
I'd highly recommend it if anyone is thinking about going.
Here's some pics and I'll try some video clips but forum doesn't seem to like MP4 file ext - any tips?

OT but Tuukka Kauppinen winning overall in 60th Arctic Rally. Tuukka will drive Rally2 Yaris in WRC Sweden in few weeks.
Being 18 years old, Tuukka is all time youngest driver to win this classic event.

Kalle was testing Hankook studded tires in the event. but it appears they struggle in soft conditions (6.5mm spikes).
Will be a challenge for all drivers to get through rally Sweden.

Looking forward to Rally Sweden. Especially with the new Hankook tyres. Last years was pretty crazy with freak bad weather and Georg Linnamäe piloting a Rally2 GR Yaris to its maiden stage win.
