GR86 Windshield replacement

Hoping repairable........🤞
 
Does anyone know whether it’s the same screen as the gt86?
 
So just standing beside my GR86 shooting the breeze with a fellow car-guy neighbour earlier…

In a moment of exuberance as he’s describing something to me, he literally flings his bunch of keys at the rear screen of my car… from about 2 feet away, full pelt… 😧😦😮🫣

Well, short story short, it’s all good and I can’t see a mark at all. But fck I was scared. And the noise it made!! Kind of surprised (and very thankful) that the rear screens seem pretty strong

Kind of made me realise that although yes it’s just a car (and just a bloody Toyota at that) but we’re the ones who waited patiently for release day, got on line early, got an order in, waited a year checking My-T every other day, tracked the build, tracked the freakin’ boat(!) etc…

So I guess I’m saying I’m a bit invested in this particular car, but I feel I should have mentally prepared myself more for someone inadvertently flinging their keys at it 😂😬

Crikey. In my day we used to just put our keys in a bowl
 
Thanks for sorting Thruxton. Day was great and got to try a GR86, glad you got your screen fixed. I am looking at windscreen protection film as a result of your experience and other comments.

I think we're glass buddies, mine is expected around now too. Haven't heard from them, so thanks for the reminder will give them a call.

Is your GR86 manual or automatic?

Might want to give them a call and confirm the specification of the windscreen while you wait mate. Mine finally arrived and it was incorrect. Their system which is apparently linked to Toyota's, shows that the manual GR86 is equipped with heating element and a camera, even when entering VIN, so it was made to the incorrect spec.

Back to square one for me.
