Last Thursday, in Rohrbach in the Hunsrück region of the Rhein-Pfalz, near the Moselle, I encountered a white GR Yaris in the oncoming direction.
The rear plate was yellow, but I took no real note of the front plate, which makes me think it was probably white. Didn't see a driver in the left seat, but that could've been down to glare.

Were you in a black one?..

And did you also pass a VX220/Opel Speedster that day?..

I was in a black one, yeah.
And yeah, I think I passed a Speedster that day. I definitely recall passing one recently, and I don't see them regularly...

Ah cool that was me! Sorry I was waving very enthusiastically but from the wrong side! Was over from Scotland with a couple friends in speedsters, who I was trying to catch up! I should have stopped to say hello but my German is not very good. I can now ask for 3 beers and various chunks of pork tho, hoping to learn some more for next year!

That's awesome! I hope you guys had fun-- it's a lovely country and that's a good area for roads. Did you make it up to the Nurburgring?

I dropped the window to wave, but not in a timely fashion-- I was super caught off guard and struggled to find the window switch :)

BTW, my German may not be any better than yours.

I spent about a week in a half or so in Scotland about 5 years ago. Absolutely loved it!

We didn’t go to the ring, especially as the 2 speedsters were not behaving particularly well. Lovely countryside and great roads.
You should come back to Scotland with the Yaris if you get a chance!
