GR86 Which dealer did you use to collect your GR86? Around Berks, Surrey areas.

I drive past most days so it was the convenience for me!

I’m loving the car tbh, very hard to fault it 😊

I decided against the sensors in the end as the camera is pretty decent. I’m probably going aftermarket on the spoiler in the next month!
Yes, the camera was pretty good when I test drove it. But sensors do help as it is getting dark early soon. any aftermarket sensor on the market yet? Do these aftermarket stuff affect the warranty?

I didn't ask for the items. They should know now that information on direct sale cars are not on their normal system, I believe Compass is a system used to log and communicate between centres and Toyota. The sound generator disable is not a user option. I got the programming done elsewhere, although they offered to do while I waited. No accessories ordered. Also comes with front and rear mats and brief user guide.
Where did you go to get the programming done? Thanks.

Picked up from Bracknell, decent bunch. 10 year plan and they fitted parking sensors.
How much do they charge to fit the parking sensors? was it worth it ? Did you get the 10 year plan from Bracknell or TOL? is it 36£ per month, does it comes with MOTs? thanks

Early cars got free parking sensors as was listed on the spec but cars started showing up without them. One of many challenging things we went through.......

I used Inchcape Guildford. Feb or March 23 pickup I think.

Comms was the issue for me but they followed my instructions and it was handed over EXACTLY as I'd asked for it, no fuss on handover which is what I also wanted - none of this silly red cover thing and champagne all round.

Pics attached - this is what I wanted so I was really pleased with that. Plastic wheel protection still in place and full of leaves behind, keys were still in the plastic pouches too. I didnt want to deal with what @AndyRC had to in Hull. Number plates stuck on instead of being drilled as requested.

Was still annoyed tbh and they rubbed me up the wrong way big time, a massively stressful time of life in 2022 wasnt helping but popped in (January I think) just because I wanted to check the GR86 out, I'd seen a red one in Hull through the window, and I knew Guildford finally had one in so I went to take a look in passing. Was just chatting to the sales guy and mentioned I had one on order after being told they were unavailable to order, they checked and turns out mine was due in any day (I think it was something crazy like the following week), I'd heard nothing.

Booked a test drive on a Saturday, came in, no one had actually booked me in so had to come in Sunday. That wound me up big time.

Comms was just generally piss poor, frustratingly so to the point where I was going to actually go in and ask them what the hell was going on.

I expect nothing less from dealerships, so none of this surprised me. BMW were even worse. Ford the same. I'd not buy a Toyota again I dont think.

Its been so poor I'm tempted to have servicing done by a reputable independent and veto the 10 year warranty just so I can avoid main dealers. Guildford was pretty packed and low on space as well, Ford was next door at one point with a similar setup (crammed in with no room to move) and they damaged my Focus ST when it went in for a service so this oddly is a major consideration for me, I was expecting the GR86 to be damaged before I picked it up.

No accessories included, assuming people actually still get them.

Id just pick one and temper any expectations that exceed 'low' unless someone else had a decent experience with one.

If you do, then being in Surrey, going to Abbey Motorsport would be a no-brainer. They looked after my GT86 for years. With the GR, I was considering keeping it main dealer, especially with the 10 year warranty, but I've had enough bad luck with them that I think I might just go back to Abbey for everything. Also, I doubt they are going to charge me over £300 for a 15 minute oil change.

Yeah, Abbey would be my choice from what I've read about them.

Silly question, but why do people have the number plate stuck on instead of screwed?
The guy doing my pdi (when the car arrives on the 31st) actually asked what I'd prefer, but I have no idea.

No bolt holes, No screw caps.

Ideally no plinth, no plate, just plastic film/wrap.

Saves weight & more aerodynamic And on some cars better aesthetically [911’s etc.]

If Toyota GB hadn’t cut huge holes in all the UK GR86 ALLOCATIONS  the film/wrap option would have been my preference.
