Thought this was an interesting thread in the 86 section, handy for future people to see what the common issues are, if any.

For me, after 10 months and 15,000 km I’ve got nothing to report. It’s been rock solid and the only thing that’s broken/gone wrong is a plastic clip at the front of the passenger seat rail which my son stood on and broke, but that’s hardly Toyota’s fault 😁

So, what have you had to get sorted under warranty?

2021 GRY CP (12,000 miles)

Had the windscreen washer ‘Y’ connector and the wheel arch rubber plugs replaced.

That is it.
Very reliable so far…

2020 car. I had the gear linkage adjusted for the notchy 2nd gear, it’s still not 100% but it’s due gearbox oil soon and I’m waiting for that to decide if I need it adjusted again.

I was also getting a door seal swapped but the heat of summer seemed to readjust the glue and it’s been fine (for now).

Fit a torque arm insert and the gearshift will be sorted

A bit but no more jerky shifts, a must have imo since oem torque mount is a disgrace.

Mine had to have a new rear diff at about 8000 miles as it started to make some horrible grinding noises at full lock, no other issues.

New transmission at ca 50,000 km. It was popping out of second. 2020 car, I'm the second owner, and I started noticing it shortly after buying the car. The problem did get progressively worse. But, Toyota fixed it under warranty with no fuss that I know of--if my dealership had to argue and fight with the mothership, they didn't tell me about it.

Not sure if anything had to be dealt with by the first owner.

- roof plastics
- headlight clips
- front brake piston dust seals
- handbrake adjustment (not warranty spesificly but needed servicing as it didn't grip anymore, not sure what they did for it)

Same as ECSRobin with the gearbox. Linkage adjusted but still not perfect but have gearbox oil service coming up so that should help. Otherwise I have had almost 2 years and 7k miles of pure fault free driving joy!

A fuel pressure sensor went on me about 6 months ago.

GR was off the road for 2 weeks as the part was on order.

Same for me, mine is 'better' but it isnt as nice as everyone else says their gear change is. When cold its worse than warm, but even warm 1-2 and 2-3 you can feel it very slightly crunch into gear. Doesnt fill me with confidence as many in Aus have had gearbox claims knocked back for popping out of 2nd as it seems ToyAus just blames the owner for poor gear changes. Im on just under 5000kms now.
