GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Ramps, stands, lifehacks. Own garage helps, but done a lot of stuff under the blue sky too...
Friends or friendly garage with lift helps with the bigger stuff...
 
I have own small garage (for the first time) and using ramps. Ok for small work but not doing anything big at home - for that I visit friends car repair shop where there is expertise and tools for much more.
 
Are self service garages a thing for those of you on the continent? They’ve popped up all over the place here in recent years. £15-20 an hour for workshop facilities, vehicle lifts - many places provide tools, air lines, compressors.

Here in Ikea land we have self service with lift. Good for adjusting exhaust, changing oils etc. But not ideal for bigger work because you better be bloody sure your brought all the right tools, otherwise you sit there stuck with some tool missing...
Edit: also no fun with bigger jobs as floor is dirty/oily...

Yes, the very reason I like to do bigger stuff at my friends shop is that he has all the stuff you don't know you might need.
Could swap oils at self service garage etc but doing anything that requires disassembling car - maybe not. Well maybe some exhaust change or brake pads change but that's it.
 
Clarted all the metal bits (except brake discs!) in ACF50. Sealy paraffin blower worked perfectly. Used about 300ml ACF50 for the whole car, and I wasn't shy with it.
Much less concerned about salt on the roads now, but I'll have a check mid-winter to see how its holding up.


Wouldn't fancy doing it on the ground mind, thankful I have a proper ramp nowadays! Too many years of rolling around on cold hard surfaces...

Absolutely not here in Germany. I've never heard of something like this. Maybe there are some out there but damn sure these are very rare. Maybe I big cities like Berlin and Hamburg?

That’s a shame, they’re getting more popular here, principally because workshop labour charges are so high and people feel they can do work on their cars themselves.
 
Went for a drive in the Cotswolds. Too warm a day for the newly fitted Crossclimates! It’s November….could feel them squelch a bit in the tighter corners. As all my experience to date has been with PS4Ss that could also have contributed. Saw 2 other white GRYs, one at Morteton in Marsh (thanks for waving back if it was you) and one at Caffeine and Machine around 12 if either was anybody on here.
 
I've gone back to bucket, sponge and hosepipe. Pressure washers are such a hassle to set up and put away with trailing mains leads and the like.

It gives me more time to drive the thing.

PS4S is fine for down south through winter. Even sub the 7deg minimum optimum temp they work well.

I bought them more for the frequent visits to my parents up North in Scotland! If it stays mild for a few months more I will probably go back.
