I finished running in the car in style. Had bright sunshine, mist, torrential rain, hail, icy roads (nearly required some new undies) and lightening, all in the space of 30 minutes. Got to love Welsh mountain weather.

Winter prep day! Yeah it’s early, but the roads in Manchester are getting too crappy to risk the CP wheels at this point.

Ceramic coating on the wheels topped up, as well as a good clean and some more Lanoguard underneath for good measure. Time to rubber up (mats of course).

Yeah it looks absolutely ridiculous, but I also love it at the same time!

Had my first quick drive yesterday and i just loved it. It felt like the 3rd gear is everything you need on twisty B roads. I've seen a red Corvette C7, a group of three Golf 2 GTi's and one of them with widebody kit, a black 911 GT3 and a Black GT86 who was right in front of me for like 5 Minutes. While he had no chance on the B roads he showed me who is the king of the roundabouts twice.

Careful……as certain Ceramic coatings contain various solvents which will remove the Marker ( a sharpie) especially on a gloss surface that hasn’t been Key’d.
Remember to test first on something else first if you still have the same pen that was used.
PPF preferred choice but again test first as some films require the application solution mix to contain alcohol solvents

Thankyou for the advice! You literally saved me making a terrible mistake, after reading your post I tested the same pen on my toolbox and the ceramic coat wiped it clean off with no effort!

So, if I were in possession of these signatures at this point.... Remove, go to the painter and clear coat over it. After that it's forever.

Re-installing my dash panel after getting it autographed by Kalle Rovanpera, Elfyn Evans, Sebastien Ogier, Takamoto Katsuta and Jari Matti Latvalla! - On the weekend Kalle won his first world championship no less!
Good for at least an extra 10bhp!

The AD08Rs are getting down on tread and up on noise. That coupled with the exhaust carboning in meant an increase in cabin noise. Not huge but annoying over a couple of hours of highway so yesterday I did the dynamat thing. To be honest it is probably the worst job of dynamatting ever. I had never used this product before and the GR boot may not have been the best place to start.

But with the foam bits in and in the true meaning of "She could easily pass for 43 in the dusk with the light behind her" it passes. Just.

Test drive today and it is much improved. The booming that was the combined exhaust and tyre noise is pretty much gone and while cruising there is no exhaust noise at all. Still a pleasant rumble on throttle when in quiet mode so that is a plus. Haven't tested with the exhaust flap open which was too loud on the road for me so that will maybe still be the same. This is with the artificial noise off. It was horrid with that switched on even new.

And no I don't know why I bother to carry the jack and the factory tyre lever which doesn't fit the OzRacing wheels.
