GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

New coils arrived will bang these on and go for a test drive this evening. View attachment 42240
My GR Yaris is night and day different from what it was. Smoother idle, smoother throttle response and now pulls like a train. I got my GR Yaris back to how it was new. Will give it an Italian tune up on the motorway tonight to get some heat in it after lots of dailying in it. The OEM Denso coils were definitely degraded at 50,000km.

Theres a few things that kill the coils packs. On the Yaris I would be concerned about engine bay temps. They sit under that insulated engine cover and run hot. This also can also kill the boost control solenoid, MAP sensor? I run without an insulated engine cover for this reason.
Other things like running bigger plug gaps, too much dwell can overheat the coils.
I can remember when some old-style ignition coils were oil-cooled. Them were the days

both coils and plugs can affect the smoothness if they're not in order or wrong for the tune engine is set for.

I am at 30k km, sometimes lumpy idle and harder to start too.
Tried one injector cleaner, didn't helped. Just replaced spark plugs, didn't helped either. So maybe the coils are the next thing... Will try some warranty next service, let's see.

Replaced my discs on warranty end of last year, and discovered a crack on an almost brand new rear disc, so that is probably being replaced again.

wow this is front disc? what model year you are?

Rear. Old model.
But this was for sure a manufacturer defect, discs were replaced in November, car sat in the garage until end of January, drove maybe 3k km and saw the crack.
Specially strange from the crack to start right in the middle, not near the edge or the reliefs

Just installed my new Yashio Factory Titalium OPF delete exhaust. Beautiful craftmanship, magnificent welds, perfect fit. Very light. Bought it straight from Yashio Factory in Japan, waited 6 months for fabrication, received by DHL once ready. Plug & play install. I didn't take the default version with blue burnt titanium tips, I asked specifically for the tips to remain plain natural titanium, will let them change color naturally accordingly.
Really happy with the sound, slightly louder than OEM, but a discreet low tone sound. It's slightly louder than on Yashio's video because I had the ECE sport catalyser already.

Mine is a bit hesitant on start at the moment (40k miles), think it’s time for a spark plug change. The front discs are borderline too so will probably fit a new set, just getting to that age / mileage where lots of things seem to be due and a reasonably big cost all at once. Luckily both of these are straightforward to do, so just the parts cost.

car barely uses the rear brakes so yes its an odd one

I'm mainly looking at what's left before the pads start protruding out of the caliper, to me it shouldn't go beyond that even if there's material left on them, and it's a daily driver too so I can't wait until the wear indicator starts touching the disks, as I can't just immobilize the car waiting for parts, I have to anticipate. Right now there's still some life left in them but considering I'm gonna drive a whole week in the mountains I think I'm gonna have to replace them right after that so in two weeks just to be safe.

The isnside pad is the one that gets slightly more wear than the outside pad. That's why the limit copper blade (which is on the inside pad only) will start squealing before that gap closes !
