GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Focal IS TOY 165 speakers and tweeters installed. Was a surprisingly easy job. Both doors + some sound insulation done in less than a couple of hours.

Pretty basic upgrade, changing only 2 front speakers and tweeters, with no DSP or anything, but still a very big improvement.
Much clearer sound at all volume levels. Treble is a bit sharp out of the box, so had to turn it down a bit in the EQ. Wish there was a step between -1 and -2, but that's nitpicking.

Sound system isn't exactly a priority for me in this car, but at least now it is more than decent en
Even the JBL system fitted to the Aussie spec cars is crap. My CX-3 has a better system.
Might have to do this speaker change myself.
I usually turn the sound off when flogging the car so I can hear any Ping .

Yeah, for a supposed 'premium' audio system, the factory JBL* doesn't seem to have a very good reputation.

The Focal kit is a no-brainer recommendation for me. Highly recommended.

*possibly little more than a badging exercise

been there... :cautious: (n)
Thankfully there's only a tiny piece missing and half an hour of superglueing has got it back together. Thought I'd do that now and replace it after the next pigeon can't be bothered to get out of the way.

Collected car from SRD with Tractive suspension and Verkeline rear upper arm fitted together with their baffled sump kit.
I keep on seeing references to this sump kit. Do they actually have their own product?

What is a baffled sump kit ? and what does it actually due ?
A unbaffled sump has a large 'free surface area', meaning when you go round a corner, particularly a long one as you might find on track, all the oil will slosh to one side. This can mean the oil pickup is starved of oil, causing a sudden drop in oil pressure which bearings tend not to like too much, to put it mildly.

Putting baffles in the sump (with restrictors and/or check valves to allow flow in one direction only) ensures that there will always be oil for the pickup to suck up. Happy bearings guaranteed!

This image wot I grabbed off of the internet might show it better.
