GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Yeah, I was just going to cobble something together myself but this was cheap enough to make that a stupid option 😁

Drove to one nearby hobby car event at race track with GR after driving 2000km around Scandianvia with a Hybrid Corolla.
GR feels a blast after a pause, but boy its thirsty - averaged 11ltr/100km and was on cruise the whole drive. that's silly!
Maybe putting GR in hobby car mode and getting a more economical daily car just to get more thrills and save GR for special days.

btw saw no GR Yaris during the whole 1.5wk trip via Sweden and Norway. they're not that common.

I parked my GR away mid-July and will take it out on August 5 the next time. Really looking forward to it….

Putting together a tire change/repair kit, preparing for a road trip. Need to be able to fix a flat, and not with the fix-a-flat goop that comes with the car.

No way I'd use the stock 21mm lug wrench on nice wheels, and I have different size lug nuts for different wheels, so the Astro Tools impact set with non-marring sleeves, and break-down cross wrench fits nicely. Modified the jack handle to be spun using the 1/2" drive cross wrench. Stock air pump works to inflate tires, just need an empty sealant bottle. Waiting for the plug set, and that'll tie it up.

Nice weld!

Having a family free day went for a longer swim and did a regular test drive route with GR. It is just a fun car, though difficult to drive according the limits. This tank averaging 11ltr/100km, of which 2/3 motorway and 1/3 city/smaller road.

Having driven GR less this summer it feels more special once driving it. Very hot weather so performance was not as crisp as it could have been but corners were fun nevertheless.
this set of RP-X pads are driving me crazy with their squeal. Embarassing to drive around the city..

Good to know that the RP-X are maybe a bit much for the road. The RP-1 are commendably silent, but even so I think I’ll swap back to stock pads and keep these for trackdays etc. as the dust seems a little more stubborn.

Drove myself through a huge thunder and lightening storm today, slightly worrying myself at the time at what are the effects of a carbon roof being struck by lightening 😄 I know a full metal bodied car is like a faraday cage with its contents safe. Unsure about a car with a carbon roof mind. I survived.

View attachment 29682Installed the power flex torque bush insert. Used Fensports settings for the bolts, 4x60nm & 105nm for the large bolt.
Just wanted to update this for future readers. Looks like my info on the torque settings was off (I've tried to find the article where Fensport were quoted but cannot). Based on this other forum post, the 4 smaller bolts should be 44nm and the large bolt, 200nm. I'd better get back under the car and re-torque that big bolt.

Convertibles don't offer Faraday cage protection, so a carbon roof will be the same.

Major risk to GRY drivers! 🤣

Two points:

1) There are still bits of metal spanning the roof so less of a gap than, say, the windscreen 😉

2) The carbon fibre is still going to be conductive to a greater or lesser degree!

I’m going to put it on my list of “things not to worry too much about” 😁

my first set was not all that loud, although I do think I did not do the pedding well for that kit. Well, they were quite silent on street, so these 2nd set is not so.
Maybe it is the new air ducts that make they squeal, or then I have gotten some excessive dirt somewhere, or smth.

I used my car from Oslo-Bodø-Oslo and passed a lot of caravans - which was a blast😃! My average on my tripp was 0,69 l / 10 km. What a great car this is! Love it😃

Did not see any GRY eather.
