Service einfach laut Handbuch.
Was ist nun richtig,
was würdet ihr empfehlen.
Danke jetzt schon für eure snrwort

The manual is correct. Too many dealers are idiots, just looking to be able to give you another invoice.

After running in, it is advisable to change the oil, transmission, differentials and engine. So after about 1000 to 2000 km. This is not a requirement on the part of Toyota, but more than makes sense. Find a garage that uses the correct oil. Toyota in general is not capable of this. If you live in southern Germany, go to Autohaus Bach in Eigeltingen. The specification of the right oil can be found here in the forum. In general, Toyota has no idea when it comes to this car, they only know hybrids and the like.

Oh, I t’s not going to do any harm, and despite teardowns perhaps showing superficial benefits in the presentation of components after x,000 km (usually paid for by companies selling oil, strangely enough…), I’d bet there is no measurable improvement in engine performance or longevity over the long term purely from an extra oil change like this. Other factors have for more impact in an engine’s longevity imho

If there was, our American cousins would demonstrate their engines lasting much longer that European-owned ones because they have a culture of additional, some would say excessive, oil changes. As it is, their engines tend to last the same length of time as ours, so…

This has been debated ad nauseum on the internet since before the www was even born 😁

Thread opening in English for non Germans:

"Hello all GR enthusiasts, Just got mine and now a dealer tells me that a first service with an oil change would be at 1000 km. Another dealer says it doesn't need it at all and it isn't necessary, 1st service should be done simply according to the manual. what is right? what would you recommend? Thanks in advance for your answers."

It's not absolutely necessary but, like the others here, I would recommend doing a oil change and also change oil of differentials as well after the running in period.

Yeah there's a million opinions on it even from the time internet discussions happened on usenet... Personally still doing it, not at 1000 km but somewhere around 3 to 4000 km. Not super expensive, can't hurt even if it likely only makes the onwer feel good and less the car :). The dealer sounds money grabbing to me though, would take it somewhere else.

While we are on the subject: how is your dealer / Toyota in you country handle the 6 months "safety inspection"? Relevant for the warranty?

I would not have the engine oil changed earlier than the manual specifies, unless I did track days, etc hard driving.

I would regularly change the three non-engine oils earlier, though, starting with changes at circa 2k, 6k & 12k miles.

Irrespective of the individual need for an oil change before the first major (12-month) inspection ....

.... here is an official statement of a (German) Toyota dealer:
  • The "fitness check" (after 6 months) is not required for keeping the Toyota guarantee / warranty; neither for the new-car guarantee, nor for the subsequent Relax guarantee. Only the yearly (12-month) inspection is required.
  • The "fitness check" is recommended for vehicles regularly driven in races / on track days.
  • The Relax guarantee starts after the new-car guarantee ends. Only after the third main service (i.e. after 3 years) the online FIN query will yield a positive result for the Relax guarantee.
I did that inquiry because my GR Yaris, first registered in July (21) is a seasonal vehicle, stowed away in January. So I feared the guarantee was lost because I didn't have the "fitness check" on the car. - Again, this information is valid for Germany.

All is good. - Cheers!

My dealer said oil change after 12 month or 10k km.
I will do it after 1.000- 3.000 km depend on my available time.
Toyota dealer offered my the change of ALL oils for 550 Euros.
I am from Germany.
Grüße.
