GR86 UK Standard Equipment

I noticed on a video that the car appears to have a switch for a heated front screen. I can't see it listed in the specs though. Have I missed it or do we reckon the switch is just to direct the air con at the screen?

Really like a heated screen, much less faffing in winter.
Just defogging by the look of the USA handbook:

If its like the GT86, its just that, it switches the vents to the windscreen and turns the fan on full speed thats all I'm afraid.

I kind of prefer that, the screen in my MK8 ST can strain my eyes sometimes!
My fiancé has a Focus she despises the heated front screen, in the winter in the dark, it causes massive strain on her eyes, not the first time I've heard it with heated front screens either, makes everything hazy especially oncoming headlights.

Not that easy to spot them, but I think you can see them the most on the Ice Silver car in the configurator:

They are also mentioned in the european owners manual:
Washer/wiper dual operation
Pulling the lever operates the wipers
and washer.
Wipers will automatically operate a couple
of times after the washer squirts.
When the headlights are on and the
lever is pulled and held, the headlight
cleaners will operate once.

An interesting thing I've noticed is that the UK spec is advertised as having an auto-dimming rear view mirror, yet every spec in the US has a manual one. Not a game changer but if it is manual, it will take some getting used to as I've been spoiled over the years and don't think I've ever not had an auto-dimming one...

The order spec states it has an 'Electrochromatic auto-dimming rear view mirror' but the owner's manual makes no mention of it, and only shows a manual dip mirror...
Maybe something they've included mainly/only for the UK?

Talking of mirrors, I don't think the wing mirrors are electric folding.... That's annoying and a backwards step (old car was).

It seems to be a stealth cost cutting exercise manufacturers are using. Ford took it off Fiesta ST3

Loads of safety stuff we must have but something we might want can’t have ☹️

What makes you say that?
The spec says it has 'power retractable door mirrors'.
Yeah, I saw this in the spec and was rather relieved as my current MX-5 doesn’t have them and it would be nice to go back to a car with electronic folding mirrors as every car I’ve owned has had them.
Some Mazdas (relevant due to my current car) have electric folding but they’re not linked to the locking of the car so you have to fold them in while still in the car, maybe the 86 had this?
Saying that, I soon got used to pushing the mirrors in manually like it was the 90s.

From page 124 of the UK manual:

I can't find a reference as to whether they fold when the car is locked / alarmed though.
Gawd, sorry fellas, I'm pleased to be proven wrong 😅 I got it from the manual, but the manual I was reading said to push the mirror towards the door, guessing it was the wrong one!

Hoping 'fold on lock' can be coded if it isn't automatic? Save me checking the cars locked every time!
If it’s like the GT86 it will be a push of the button but I’ve seen it done so they are auto folding when locking. Personally prefer it not being automatic, gets annoying when you’re cleaning the car and the mirrors keep doing a merry dance! I know you could leave the keys in the car but I’ve never liked doing that!
