Hi all, newbie here but lurked for a while. Recently reinstated my love of hot hatches with a Mini F56 John Cooper Works, decided next should be a GRY and have test driven a red circuit and white non circuit (preferred circuit).
When a GRY popped up on Revcomps last week I bought a ticket on the off-chance and totally surprised to have won it in yesterday's draw.
Anyway, hadn't read the spec before, it's a heavily modified circuit with some expensive (c.£15k) mods. Please see link Revcomps GRY for full details.

I'm wandering if the previous owner is on here or its a known car that someone can provide a little more background on.

I was actually looking at oem/stock cars for my needs but this appears nicely specced and I'm obviously very lucky to have the current dilemma... so I'd welcome any thoughts, advice re reliability at that Litchfield c.350HP with the mods fitted etc. Also suitability for light daily use as well as weekend warrior. It is a 2nd car as I do have a sensible family wagon too, but, if I've got one I want to drive it at every opportunity 😀

Any advice appreciated.
Thanks

I’d say drive it and find out. As it cost you the cost of an entry you can always sell it and still be quids in.

Thanks Waz and Escrobin, appreciate the info and comments.
I'm pretty sure the rear seats etc are no longer with the car, it would limit the use a little for me in its current configuration however very tempting to keep as it is essentially a free car and just a bit more extreme version of what I was looking for anyway.

I have owned modded cars and more powerful cars than this previously so that doesn't scare me. I am however past the stage of putting up with reliability issues for the sake of a bit more BHP hence trying to learn a bit more.

Thanks again.

Amazing luck, congrats! The mods are far from extreme, and Litchfield is obviously a huge name with a great reputation, can’t imagine you’ll have any issues for your use. I’m sure a set of rear seats can be picked up easily/cheaply. The only possible downside is lack of warranty with a map, but you don’t get many 4 year old cars with a warranty. Personally, I found the warranty basically useless for anything short of a major mechanical fault anyway. Free toy car, what’s not to like 😀

Thanks doabackflip, I know ive been super fortunate.
Reassuring to know re the specific mods and yes I'm contemplating if I should keep and reinstate back seats to make a little more usable on the odd occasion.
Ironically before deciding a fun hatch/GRY was the way forward my preferred toy was VERY nearly a Cayman (yep, 2 seats). 🙃

Yeah, I wouldn’t worry about reliability. In general the things are rock solid.

Lucky boy!

Congrats, I won a Cayman S a few years ago from them, I told them I was going to give it to the missus. They are really lovely people at Rev Comps. I drove from Staffordshire to collect the car and they offered to put us up in a hotel, we politely declined. They were insistent of doing something, so they filled the car with fuel, gave me £100 towards my fuel (RS4) and donated £200 to Multiple Sclerosis as my missus has MS, they had also put £3k in my bank as part of the prize.
We ran the car for 18 months and then p/x'd it for Macan, as that's what my missus wanted!
Rev Comps are the real deal, congratulations on your win.
