So 177 GR86s deliverd in Q4 last year (as we know December)

2023 Q1 figues will be available next month
 
Excellent find. Doesn't seem there will likely be more than 400 once the second batch are all registered that fits with original speculation. Still very exclusive especially compared to GR Yaris. If it fits in your life it's one hell of a car to own. I wouldn't mind a new Landcruiser to accompany it, the local Waitrose has some large speed bumps 😂.

If there is indeed a second batch (as opposed to cancelled orders that became available) I’d have thought we’d end up at over the 430 or so that was originally thought to be the total?

It might’ve given us a clue however the list of orders on here doesn’t appear to be updated any more - I’ll go with a guess of 600 cars in total.

Circa 430 original orders, 64 demonstrators, 9 press cars plus 100 or so that Toyota have found down the back of the sofa.

Believe they’re all due to be registered this year but with the lag in releasing the official numbers doesn’t look like we’ll know until around May 2024 then.

NB that compares to around 6600 GT86 and 4500 GR Yaris.

My local dealer told me 400 cars in batch #2 but that could be complete rubbish..

Yeah, there is. Some aren't even built yet. It would be great if they were all readily available as cancellations but, I'm still waiting on an assigned stock number and build slot for my AT in magnetite grey. I did say to TOL that I'd happily take a Blue or a Red if there are any cancellations or if it brings my production date forward - I got a swift custard pie with the comment that there are so few ATs coming to the UK it would be highly unlikely. :cry:
 
I was told in June before the latest batch was offered that their would be 1000-1200 coming to the UK by the end of '23 - details from a reliable contact (not a Toyota dealer :ROFLMAO: ).

I wasn't sure whether this included the '22 cars, but on reflection I think this is additional units so I would not be surprised to see somewhere in the region of 1500 in total by the end of this year.

I don't really have anything other than gut feeling based on the forum & facebook to go on, but I'd be very surprised if there was anything like that many.

My gut feel is that this your contact is about right. I don’t quite think they will sell 100% of the second allocation that Toyota global has offered them (they are still offering red/white/grey and have gone back to people who initially declined to try to get more sales/finish selling their allocation - high interest rates on finance will have put some off from buying). Presumably after the deadline of 20th August they will stop selling and only cancellations will then be available. So I reckon batch #1 ~500 (inc demos and press) and batch #2 ~1,000+ (which makes about 1500 total like you say). I am quite surprised that some people still think that the second batch is as low as 100. I would be staggered if that were true. Still, it means a decent number of us get to enjoy a fantastic car 👍
 
It's unlikely @midlife_sportscar Toyota GB will publish numbers, so we'll need to wait for the database to update next Spring/Summer before we find out.

One thing is certain, this latest batch is not cancelled orders, it's a new allocation. If the UK does end up with 1500 cars, it should help with parts supply, modifications and possibly insurance quotes in the future.

Obviously if I do find out some official numbers I will share on here.

In a completely unscientific manner - just wondering how many 2nd batch forum users we have on here?
Don’t we have over 200 of 1st batch owners, so it’d be a fair assumption to say we had a god sized chunk of the 2nd batch guys too🤷‍♂️.
Do we have like 10, 20, 200, 2nd batch forum users??

I wondered this, looking through the “orders / owners / register” thread the last add to the original order list was #210. (i.e. “batch 1”)

I make it 20 “adds” requested since then, from page #245, starting with Mute101 on 6/6/23 (i.e. these are “batch 2”)

Interesting question, but difficult to answer as we don't just have GR86 owners on this forum and we also have a crossover of some Yaris owners switching to the 86.

I have seen lots of people referencing the invitations and stating they have a car on order from the second batch.

Since the invites began in early June the forum has recruited approx 250 new members and their will be many who are guests and don't register at all.

From what I've seen and experienced, invites accepted early June had in most cases cars on ships at sea with August delivery. Toyota GB were pro-active and had newly built cars on ships before the invites were sent.

Interesting to learn that Toyota will be selling through their dealer network for 2 weeks in October. This would make sense in order to clear cancelled orders (and possibly cars they have shipped that didn’t have a name against them). Do you have any more intel/gossip on what the total number in the UK will be please?
PS - still running my car in and I love it (irrespective of how many are coming or not!)
