Been on since pickup.

Flashes for a while on start up then stays on solid. No pressures showing on display screen.

Have tried setting the pressures correctly (they were only slightly off) then the reset described in the manual (holding the button down etc.) But the reset does nothing.

Any ideas? Will get it back to Toyota at some point but I know the pressures are fine and enjoying the car so much not in a mad rush.

Overinflate pressures to around 40 PSI then drop them to 35 all around (the light should disappear at that point) and reset TMPS using the button (engine needs to be on for that).

Mine were set at around 38 PSI with the light on, so I dropped them to 34 and inflated back to 35 to get the light to disappear.

Make sure to inflate tyres when they're cold (before driving ideally), as pressures will drop quite rapidly when car is sat for a while and outside temperature is low.

Do you need to have ignition on when overinflati g the tyres & then dropping the pressure?
 
If the above doesn't work then Bracknell sorted mine in the time it took me to drink a coffee in the waiting room (y)

Not unless you're using a 12V tyre inflator, then it's advisable to keep the engine running to avoid a battery drain.

This absolutely worked thanks alot! 👍

Engine running, 40 psi then 35 psi, light went off, left it running for about 10mins doing other things, turned it off.

Went for drive couple of hours later no light still and after 10mins pressures started reading! Saved me a trip to the dealer!

Glad to hear it worked mate. I'll stick the thread in case anyone else runs into similar issues after collecting the car. :)
 
Somewhat related question...does anyone know how to change which unit the tyre pressure is displayed in? Mine is showing in Bars, but I'm kind of more used to reading them in PSI.

There's a setting in the menu to change the display units between imperial/metric, but it has no effect on the tyre pressure screen...only speed, mpg, etc.
 
My TPMS sensor was on at pick up, the dealer said they tried to reset/sort it 3 times and basically gave up, obvs got the spin of if I drive it for 10 mins they'll go off - which I knew it wouldnt, will try above this weekend. :)
 
Interesting to hear Beorg say the pressures drop rapidly in the cold when sat.
I notice this a lot in my GRY. It sits in the garage for a few weeks as I have an AygoX as my little daily and when I get the GRY out for a run up into the dales I always have to blow the tires up as they have dropped quite a bit and the light is on. Why do they lose air when stood in a garage and not on a car parked outside and used daily? Is it the seal?
I also notice the Ctec also shows the last square green light as lit up when it is really cold. Hardly ever see that one on in mild weather so the cold must affect either the battery or the charger - possibly both. Where is global warming when you need it?
 
My TMPS light was on for the first 180 miles as it was too cold to fanny about resetting the pressures.

I checked them and they were all up at 2.8 bar - so reduced them to 2.2ish, pressed the button and the light cleared from the dash.

It then took a few miles to get the pressures to show on the dash option. Sorted - thanks all for the info on here.
 
There seems to be a bit of a difference between what the car thinks the pressure is and what my trusty tyre gauge thinks it is.
I set them to 2.4 bar - cold - but the car thinks it's 2.2 bar.

The TMPS is really only useful to see a change in pressure in one tyre highlighting a potential puncture so it doesn't really matter.

Just don't use the car to get an accurate real world figure on your pressures - a high quality gauge is much more reliable (y)

Yes this is exactly the same for me.

I think you need to set to 2.4bar on your tyre gauge then reset the TPMS using the button in the glove box, this should then calibrate them to read 2.4bar.

That's what I did originally, but I'll try it again 👍
 
Does this car have sensors in the wheels or does it just use the ABS sensors to work out if there is a pressure loss? That description make it sound like the latter.

It has actual sensors, but I think they need calibration once they are correctly set to 2.4bar
 
I dont even understand why are cars are using BAR... no option to change to PSI either. BAR is becoming more and more of a redundant measurement...
