My local Vertu garage has a 70 plate Circuit Pack 10k miles, £37k
The salesman said it was ex Toyota and immediately I thought press car?
The first review I found was CarWow on YouTube and there it was!
I suspect most press cars are out there now looking for new owners

Link? Not sure I’d pay over list for one of those!
 
The one was on sale in November with Cazoo I think, or possibly Cinch.

I'm sure they all treated it carefully whilst cold and running in.......
 
Watched the Carwow review this morning
He did a standing start 0-60 even though the car had

only done 311 miles.
What is the recommended max revs during running in?

There is no maximum revs during run-in.

Although it does advise to avoid sudden acceleration.
 
most dealers think people wont have a nosey round at what reg numbers bring up....i can remember looking at a megane rs that was ragged to death by harris on a race track... at the dealers it was on ramps so had a good nosey underneath and it had 4 f"%&ed tyres and was generally scuffy in places but they wanted top money...not impressed!!! on one of the renault forums it was claimed they were well looked after so my answer to them was why was this one so rough!!! never did get a proper reply!
 
A friend bought an ex Vauxhall VXR8 press car. They are supposed to go back to workshop and be gone over from front to back and everything needing replacing, should be replaced.
It only took until the tyre change to find out how thorough the maintenance had been - most wheel studs had damaged threads, cross threaded or were stretched where the car had had so many tyre changes in its short but hectic life.

You asked the question but how many won't ask.? And that's what they rely on.
 
It depends very much how it was treated. I don't think I would buy an ex press car but I have bought an ex track car for a road car and nearly bought an E92 M3 that the dealer principal used for a year as mostly a track toy. When I saw it the brakes and tyres (cup 2) were shagged but it was getting all new brakes, I could pick wheels and tyres. It had coilovers and was going back on its original factory gear that was effectively new and the KW stuff left in the boot. The car was fully optioned with carbon and leather etc and probably over $175k new, with about 7,000km I could have bought it for well under $120k. It was tempting but a weekend test drive proved the suspension (KW) was too harsh for my driving and I knew the stock stuff wasn't much softer. Otherwise it was going in my garage...
 
But if you're a BMW Mini fanatic the early Bini press cars attract a premium, other cars too.

Before my Yaris I tried to do a deal on an ex press Zupra. It had been thrashed by all the greats and rolling roaded with way more bhp than the book figure.
I actually thought it was cool that there was footage of Harris driving it sideways.

Unfortunately didn't buy it because the dealer wouldn't meet me in the middle 😞

Just saying an ex press car isn't the end of the world.
