Thruxton Track Day 20th July

Seems ok for me.
Just checked again on my laptop, got a message it was full and gave the option to go on a waiting list. Tried again on my phone and booked! 🤷🏼‍♂️ No idea what’s gone on there but booked in now.

Appreciate some of us are always going to be nervous about track days - particularly if you’ve never taken your own car on track before.

I’m fortunate enough to have worked in gigs that got me into corporate days at Palmersport and the like - but nothing prepared me for the first day I took my own car (111R) on track nor how awesome it was 9 months later on its first outing at Spa and then spent 6/7 years going ape with engine conversions and heading back to Spa and LM via the tunnel.

Once mine arrives I’ll be biting their hands off if I get a mail for a £99 for a day at Thruxton. For those without TD experience, one of the key benefits of a GR invite only event is that you won’t come across anyone with a stripped out/caged 20 year old hot hatch bothering you in the corners in your new P&J.

£99 doesn’t get you much if a day out any more - dare say it’s probably worth it just to head down and watch from the pits.

I'm currently signed up to go but not sure I'll be able to make it...
For £99 for a day limited to only 60 cars and that includes a "VIP" experience I wasn't going to think about it too long, can always cancel and get my money back but hopefully I'll be there.

I would expect it is those who purchased new from Toyota and didn't opt out of marketing communications.

There's a ~20% chance I can't make it, but I won't know for sure either way until later in the week.

If anyone here is willing & able to take the slot it at short notice then let me know by replying to this post and I'll DM you (I assume that's possible, never tried) if I do have to bail out and my slot is up for grabs.

Just to let you know it is possible to transfer, I've done this successfully with a fellow friendly forum member.

Just contact the company using the details on the document you received.

Shame to miss it but not sure I should with my chipped up windscreen.

I may be around now, any spectators allowed if I pop down.
I just got an email saying:

"We just wanted to remind you that the track day is just for you, we will not be able to support any guests or passengers across the day. So, to avoid any disappointment please do not bring anyone with you, as we are catering for drivers only and scheduled track time based on the number of owner invites sent."

I was hoping to take my son with me.

If anyone does pop down to spectate, and if it's possible for passengers to jump in, I'm happy to take folks out with me. If I go 😅
