The place to discuss all things warranty related. Links to the Toyota U.K. Website and the “Small Print” are here.

Warranty claims are always an “interesting and lively“ debate , particularly when it involves a claim being denied. Any “warranty posts” in other threads will be moved here in future. 👍

There was quite a bit of discussion about track use - unsure if we got to a clear understanding of the position.

Something of a perhaps it's covered depending on the circumstances.

So now it's 3yrs unless you keep servicing up with them to gain an additional year each time. Given increase in costs and will no doubt be even more in 3yrs I'll be servicing myself once the 3yrs are up and bring on the more serious mods. I'm still doing better brake pads and maybe some bracing but after initial test drive it's stiff enough. That opinion may change once it warms up a bit

Cat-back exhaust will not affect your warranty...

Manifold could. But cat-back no. You're fine. The only way they can deny warranty work is if the exhaust caused x issue. A cat-back is literally... just a tube... and a different back box.

Don't spread misinformation/scare it was and is identical to the GT86... more than air filters/cat-backs you're pretty much on your own. That said even with full mods when my bearings spun and the whole engine went bang... they replaced the block on my first 86.

TLDR - Cat-backs are fine. Manifold (and ecu) not so much.

Thanks for reassuring.
I'd ask your dealer again Chris Mc, sounds like he's already looking for excuses.

I believe any warranty claim starts with how the dealer you take it to views things 🤔 As with any such document they are open to interpretation, some dealerships may have a much more “flexible“ approach, especially if they are selling you performance upgrades, others may not be interested if the car is anything but “as it left the factory” .

Maybe @Richard Mckay could give us a view on this as it is an important point for those considering modifications 🤔
