So there we are - yet another benefit of the GR86. It's comparatively safe for any children you may drive into.

Apart from SUVs, I'm fairly sure the fugly high bonnets of most cars these days have risen from having to provide a cushioning effect when a pedestrians head bounces off the bonnet. The fact that it means your victim will be more likely run over as a result is kind of laughable.

Given how much it flexes and bounces about at speed I’d imagine a robust 5 year old would likely fold the bonnet in half on impact anyway. I wonder if the inlet manifold under it has been subject to any NCAP related testing.
