That's a good way of looking at it. It made me realise how lazy I'd got in the 3 months of owning the Yaris. I even like the imt auto blip on downshiftAll the reviews more or less confirm what I was expecting which is cool. I want a car I have input into making good progress. This should be that in spades. Lots of stuff feels far too easy to make progress. This rewards you for driving it well, just like the last one.
That's pretty much the reason why I'm geting a GR86 to replace my Supra. The Supra is an amazing car, and I'll miss it, but especially as it's an auto it feels like I'm a bit of a passenger sometimes. I'm hoping to get back to a car that lets me push it hard, rather than me having to hold back because it has more power than can be enjoyed properly on the road. All the reviews more or less confirm what I was expecting which is cool. It looks like the glove box sticks out quite a bit compared to gt86. We do use our gt86 as a family car although wife is not super happy in the front with a kid at the back. Did you try to sit in the front passenger ( as in your last photo here). Is it even possible to get in. Knees will hit the glove box it looking at the photo!I had my test drive at Toyota Beadles Medway. The salesman that I was in touch with is called Steve - seemed quite excited about the car, and was very pleasant to deal with. I had a car for myself for 30 min and spent extra 10 min before trying out the car seats etc.
General impression: it’s a lovely car to drive! I think the last time I was smiling so much while driving a car was at Brands Hatch in a rally GT86. Very lively, great driving position and visibility, not too noisy inside. The gear knob is well positioned, handbrake definitely invites to be used, overall not much to complain about! From drivers perspective I‘m not a big fan of the noise it makes (something deeper would suit me better), the indicators will need some getting used to, and that’s about it?
As I have 2 kids, I did test the seats for occasional use, I’m attaching some pictures for those interested. The seat for the older kid is definitely usable with passenger in the front, but will depend on height. With the rear facing infant seat the story is not so good, I’m sure my wife will curse me when she will need to sit like that with a baby at the back!

I take my 12 yr old and 16 yr old to school every day in the GT86, sometimes the 6'4" 18 yr old too! It is cramped and a very short journey, but not too bad. The worst bit for me is my daughter holding the door open with her DM boots against the speaker grille because it doesn't hold itself open.It looks like the glove box sticks out quite a bit compared to gt86.
