GR86 Tall drivers

Thanks for all the feedback guys.
Looks like I will have no issues with fitting. Just need the car now, for fun times to begin.😝

Hi,
Is there any tall (ish) drivers that own GT86 or GR86?
I have placed order for GR86 blind as everyone else , with only online pictures and videos for reference.
I am 6ft1 and medium build and my concern is will I fit and be comfortable in using it as a daily driver?
Also, when I take it for a track day will I fit with the helmet on?
Nearest GT86 for sale is about 200 miles from me...
Any useful info would be much appreciated.
Not sure if you’re in Hants but I went to Snows Hedge End with the children recently to see how they’d fit in a GT86 (and potentially GR86) - looks like they still have one in stock, poss the same one.

I’m about 6’1” and had a great time around Silverstone in the GT86 around the time they launched, so hopefully you should be fine.

6'1, 15st so not the lightest and always got a good position. My biggest issue in cars has been my knees not being right, either clipping the wheels or overstretched which causes pain so I've had to wear thinner shoes to help. With the 86 I wouldn't wear boots but normal trainers or driving shoes are perfect. It really does fit like a glove. only the FK8 Type-R fits matches it for a glove like driving position

Great thanks, I am getting my GR through Snows Toyota in Millbrook, Southampton.
I will check that GT86 out in Hedge End.

First thing for the GR received, looks excellent quality.

Thanks for the tip @ damp. Tried lovely pearl white GT86 in Hedge End, and it fits like a glove. No issues, I even had to go 2 clicks forward from end position.✅

From the Autocar review:

What’s less impressive is the steering column, which still lacks much in the way of adjustability for reach and means taller drivers will need to get cosier with the pedals than they’d ideally want.

Glad I bought the extender.

Will you be fitting it yourself? If so plenty of photos and a “How to“ write up would be good👍

How much does it move the wheel ? A link to where you can get them may be useful if you can share that 👍

Yes I will, following the instructions, will add to and post if needed.

Moves by 50mm and link in post #9

Thought I would update with some tall bloke reflections (6'6", long legs).

I thought I would instantly need the extender I bought, as in the GT86 my left leg was pretty jammed in between wheel and console.

Not so - I have space and I can reach the wheel well from basically the furthest and lowest seat position. The GR cabin is bigger!

I've mostly been focussed on enjoying it so not got round to fitting.

Will post here when I decide what to do, will probably fit it to get the perfect position but totally acceptable for now.

Impressed at 6'6 you fit! I'm 6'3 and my head occasionally scuffs the roof liner with my seating position 🤣

If you do fit the extender I'll be keen to know if it makes a good difference!

Depends on your proportions I guess, used to know a 6 footer who couldn't drive a GT86 because he was allllll body 🤣

Just linking this:

I'm only 6'1 but have long legs and big feet. I'm somewhat comfortable but it's close for the left foot. If I have chunky shoes on, coming off the clutch is harder and is close to the wheel. I'll play around a bit more and see if I can get it perfect. Sometimes I do, then I fiddle and lose it again. Now I understand why my brother was so adamant I not change anything when having a go of his.
