GR Yaris Squeaking brakes

My front right brake has developed a squeak at low speeds. Looking at the pad there’s plenty left but I’ve a line through the pad & similar mark on the disc. Any ideas what may have caused this? Should I take any action?

note its in line with end of disc groove so perfect catch a momentary trapped stone as long as disc is not deep gauged it'll all disappear soon enough

yeh agree most likely trapped a small stone and its just worn away hence the small groove and the squeel

Thanks I hadn't spotted that. I'll monitor but hopefully nothing more required.

I have noticed the brakes do squeal if they are only being used lightly for a long time. This usually manifests as I am making my way back home through suburbia . The brakes are so strong you barely need to press them to stop in traffic, and this means they make noise at every set of traffic lights!

A good stamp on the pedal seems to reset everything though.
