GR86 Speed Engineering - GR86 Aero Parts

I've just come across a german company called Speed Engineering, they've recently got a GR86 and started to develop some aero parts for it, specifical a TUV certified swan neck wing, adjustable front splitter and rear diffuser. The wing is currently on pre-order and looks like a nice design, although I'd like to see how they've mounted it to the boot lid.

They've also developed a brake cooling kit and seat mounts.

I've just come across a Youtube video from a couple of days ago on my feed, for the installation of a new front lip / splitter combo from Speed Engineering. I think this looks like one of the nicest front lips I've seen for the platform and has an actual function, is adjustable and should provide some downforce. I'm just not sure on the installation of using steel cables wrapped around the crash bar. A solid fixed rod would be better. Its also TUV certified, which is good for our Deutsch friends.

Just a shame about the price: €1.899,99

They've also made a set of fancy fender ducts, although like the other carbon stuff, they aren't exactly cheap at: €950

The brake cooling ducts look like a nice solution, but £230 for some 3D printed plastic is a bit steep! Nice idea though might steal it and print my own set Like the rear diffuser too, the massive gap under the boot where the breifcase backbox on the standard exhaust used to be must be causing me drag, man maths says a diffuser will save me money in petrol in the long run…

No idea if they are functional though, in an ideal setup you'd want a brake disc backing plate to direct the air to the centre of the disc. Like the Verus engineering kit has.

You could quite easily 3d print something thats functional though.

Oh yes, the standard exhaust was designed in such a way to allow the air to flow out of the bumper, changing it to a single exit or canister style exhaust (i.e. HKS Hi-Power Spec L) will definitely be causing some drag (not sure which exhaust you have) and a diffuser will help massively. Although for the full benefit of a diffuser you also need a front splitter / flat floor.

That racecool option is a much better price point for what it is, cheers for the link

Got a Cobra backbox, still a briefcase style design but way smaller. Should probably get some coilovers too to lower it to take advantage of the ground effect with the splitter
