Think you'll have problems with the smaller diameter of the SpacerSaver™ and the AWD system...Perhaps you're on to something. A space saver wheel that doubles as a spacer! It can sit behind the wheels giving you a wider track and when you get a puncture can immediately be called into action!
I've already created a schematic and just need sign off from Toyota:

A space saver wheel is the question.

My friends have used that kit on their motorbikes, all good. Just ordered 4 new tyres instead for Wednesday morning, gone for the ps5 over the ps4s as they’re far cheaperUnlucky pal hope you get sorted, the plugging kit I’ve shown is arguably the best one out there.
Admittedly I haven’t used it yet but it looks very sturdy and plenty how to videos showing decent results![]()
Nice higonokami style pocket knife!Hi buddy,
I bought one of these road hero kits as my car is in daily use and I didn’t want to get stranded on the way to work.
The only place for it is to wedge it behind the passenger seat but my god it is HEAVY !!
Your adding easily over 20 kg.
I sent mine back without issue and the supplier was surprised to learn that it wouldn’t fit in the boot of the GR and had to live in the cabin which isn’t ideal.
Anyway I decided to take my chances with a decent tyre plugging kit and an OE jack and brace…… Also the AA as a last resort if I can’t fix it myself.

Mark.
I used the gunge kit on my previous fiesta st, didn’t work on that either. Called the AA and they plugged the tyre. Carried on using it till I had a new set of tyresHello,
Lots of great info so thank you all.
I wondered what jack and brace you bought, also the fact the gunge kit hasn't worked as above doesn't fill me with any confidence, also don't these ruin the tyre?

If we are talking about space savers, @DeanoC put in a sterling effort and found that the 18" spare wheel from a Hyundai i30N fits the GR front and back nicely, and has a similar circumference to the stock wheels..
GR Yaris - Spare / space saver wheel
After much hunting around, I've sourced a 17" space saver wheel from an Avensis with the correct PCD & centre bore to match the GR (which fits over the brakes on the rear perfectly). Be aware that not all Avensis 17" wheels are the same & some that have a PCD 5x100 (which won't fit) & are...www.gr-zoo.com
Picked mine up from an ebay write off, and have it in a bag. Just needs nuts and a spigot ring.

This space saver wheel can also be placed flat on the boot if the larger of the rear seats is reclined. Still leaves the other rear seat available to use. For anyone who doesn't use both rear seats, the only disadvantages I can think of are the:... road hero kits...

No gunge kit or similar can serve 100% as spare wheel replacement. I've looked into various kits, including the Dynaplug, but for £70 + shipping for its top of the range version, I have resisted so far. Also, I'm not looking forward to DIY in general, let alone if/when I have a puncture, so was more inclined to save some money and effort by using a spray. I found that there are some newer ones that supposedly do not render the tyre unrepairable:... the fact the gunge kit hasn't worked as above doesn't fill me with any confidence, also don't these ruin the tyre?...
Perhaps a combination of one of those newer sealants permanently in the car and:

The kit comes with lots of useful bits that can find their place in the slots between the felt boot floor and the battery. The slot for the jack needs a tiny bit of opening up (at one of the two ends) to accommodate this particular jack.
- added road noise from having the seat reclined, the
- less boot space available and the
- added weight at the rear (which I don't mind at all).

is as close as it gets to having a car that comes with a spare wheel from factory, in terms of effectiveness.
- shorter trips with the spare wheel at home, ie nearby, and
- longer trips with the spare wheel in the car
