Did the NC500 last week and was incredibly lucky with the weather. Took quite a lot of photos of the car in scenic spots so have included a selection:

For a week away with two people the GR86 is a very practical grand tourer. It coped really well with all sorts of road surfaces including a rocky, potholed track to a beach and didn't ground once. Starting to think about doing the NC500 again in the other direction. Saw Porsches, McLarens and Ferraris, but no GR86s .

Did the NC500 in the same direction as you a couple of summers ago, 2 of us and a dog. Car was messy inside out by the end. Bealach na Ba must have been awesome in a GR86 and looks like it wasn't that busy!
Looks awesome, probably an impolite question but rough idea of cost?
My Dad did it in an XKR and they spent £2k on fuel and £9k on hotels which is spendy.........

We spent £875 on 8 nights of accommodation (B&B & hotels) and £240 on fuel (E5 apart from half a tank of E10). Probably a cheaper time of year to do it at the moment. No midge problems either!

We stayed in Lochinver, Ullapool (E5 petrol @ Lochbroom Filling Station) and Gairloch on the W coast. We used Google Maps to search for B&Bs and hotels in an area and could then give specific dates to check for availability via booking.com. Quite a few had a minimum of 2 nights as a requirement so putting in the dates helped find viable options. Hope this helps.

I can definitely recommend the Seafood Shack in Ullapool for great food and Kishorn Seafood Bar when you've enjoyed the drive down Bealach na Bá

Did the NE 250 last week. Not as epic as the NC 500 but still a nice mixture of mountains, rivers and coast. Accommodation was booked the week before, so much easier than the NC 500.

Settle, I am Scottish and did it at a fraction of that cost. There is always wild camping too
