I've been quoted

3 years service + MOT

For £1296 or £36 Per month...

What have you been offered? This seems a lot... an average of £400 per year?
Are services really that expensive?

First service is oil and filter.... how is that more than £150-200 (including stealer charges) and so is third...
What is everyone else doing?
 
I'm doing the yearly/10k miles Toyota dealer service for the warranty but I'll be paying upfront each time. The service plans don't seem to warrant any real savings except for "locking" a price in now.
 
Ive not even be offered a service plan or heard it mentioned. Is that from ToL or the dealer? My dealer just wanted to sell me the ceramic coating stuff they do, nothing else mentioned.
 
The way I see it. Service it any way you like for 3 years. You can even do it yourself as long as you keep all paperwork and photo evidence. After 3 years if you want the warranty then go to the dealer. The dealer will warranty any Toyota car up to 10 years old after a health check has been completed.

I think it would be a lot easier to argue any warranty claims if the service took place by a VAT registered garage as opposed to a non-professional doing the service on their driveway.
 
Did someone say that they locked the service plan for 10 years. If so, was this at the same cost as 3 years, or do they load it up to take inflation into consideration?

I was quoted £998.75 servicing only from Leeds, and that's a £105 discount on individual price for 3 years. Yours includes MOT, and that's +£50 a time on my quote, so a grand total of ~ £1150. Your quote sounds expensive unless it includes something extra / personal services.
Like someone mentioned before, if you re-allocate (in your mind) the high cost from "servicing" to "extended warranty" it might take the edge off...

I have the £1296 plan, as well as the MOT there are two extra years of roadside assistance.
 
Just as an aside I was looking at Hyundai i20N's recently and they have a 3 year service plan for £199 makes the Toyota one look expensive!

Mine’s fixed at about £33 a month for 10 years (no MOTs) - so no they don’t take inflation/ increases into account.

£36.67 for 10 years with MOTs.

When I was going through it the cost does seem to vary but it's only the difference in when/how often they take payment or something.

I did a 10 year plan with Mots for just over £20 a month on my GR Yaris
Admittedly it was just before they hiked the price quite a lot in August for all the GR range but they did give me a good discount.
I asked for 15% but got about 17-18% I think.
Only limitation is it's with the garage group not Toyota UK but the price is fixed for the whole 10 year warranty period.

Not much you can do. They know that most want the warranty so will pay it. But yes the fees are ridiculous for the time taken. My ST was £400 over 3 years and I thought that was a lot!
 
Thanks guys. I think I'll ask to fix mine for 10 years, as I honestly think I will keep it that long. Maybe longer. 😁

Hey @PVGR, do you have a screenshot of this quote by any chance? Just had the same package quoted at £43 a month from my dealer.
 
So it looks like the £43 I was quoted included a breakdown cover. I'll investigate who the provider is and figure out if it's worth £7 a month, or it's better to go directly to a provider.

Edit: Apparently it's AA, and "full cover", whatever that means 🤷‍♂️
