I’m sorry, but that guy is a bit weird.
The auto handbrake has literally never been an issue for me. Works when you want it to, doesn’t interfere when you don’t. I also don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone else complain about it?
In fact, it seems like a lot of things - not realising it had CarPlay, figuring out the in-built nav is shit, being amazed by a hud, not habitually switching off the lane assist etc. every trip - are just because he’s pretty unfamiliar with modern cars where these things are common/expected.
I treat mine just as ‘badly’ in terms of loading it up with all sorts of crap, just using it as I would any other car etc. and at 70k km even mine is in far better nick. His really is a bit tatty. And some of the things that have broken on his just look like abuse, like those cracked front bumper brackets or the interior damage.
Second set of tyres (still Dunlops?!

) and brakes?! I think I’m on my fifth set of tyres already, and have my third set of front pads ready to go on at some point this year.
I’m not surprised it’s floaty at speed with such shitty worn tyres!
That might also go some way to explaining why, despite him claiming to drive “hard”, he still gets 7.something l/100km. My long term average is nearly 10 l/100km! Yet I’m still on my first clutch and haven’t broken any synchros…
Fitted a single mass flywheel yet claims the car is unmodded? OK, I guess he hasn’t touched the engine, but…
I’m not ragging on the guy, he clearly loves the car and it’s great he gets to make content about it, but anyone watching that expecting to get a genuine feel for what the car is like after a few years of proper use is getting short changed.
