Picked up a copy of Whatcar magazine.
It says retained value for the GR86 is 59% at 3 years 36k miles.
Realistic figures with our limited supply?

(GR Yaris was 58% to 61% depending spec).

If I remember correctly, Autocar I think it was were saying we'd be getting £60k at ten years old...

So I was watching the grand tour and hammond is driving one of those limited edition subaru wrx sti 2003 v limited 1 of 555, so I wonder how much they are as its a limited run like our gr86:
scooby£18k
if there are actually 1000 gr86 coming to the uk and worked the same as the scooby, means our car will still be worth a bit in a few years, but probably not 70k

In 5 years time what will you be able to buy new?

Nothing similar to the GR86

New car prices are also climbing quite rapidly, along with everything else.

And the GR86 will still have 5 years warranty left.

The GR86 will be a very desirable item in 5 years time.

Not really the same - unless you really wanted that particular edition, there were lots of other Imprezas to choose from.

Personally I think they will do well but not £80k well.

After all there is a mk1 86 which I suspect people would go to if the price is too strong for the mk2.

But the correct answer is enjoy your cars don’t worry how much they cost in 5-10 years time as you’ll end up not using it which is what it’s designed to do.
