GR Yaris Recall

Ended up being told try be done by 1700 this is at half 8. But they done good had the car back before 11am

My T isn’t working any more tho
My T Isn’t working either since, my car is “still at the garage” according to the app.

MPG readout in the car shows me they didn’t go for a mad test run 😂😅

Just had a call from this number: 01908 733900
Claiming there's a second recall for the GR Yaris? First I've heard. I said to the bloke I'll pop in my dealership then as I already had the recall done and he replied "there's a 2nd recall now" wtf!? Since when!? o_O  ...didn't believe the call to be honest! 🤨🤨🤨

According to the DVLA site I do need another one...

Mine also, but I haven't had the collision avoidance recalibration done yet, doesn't suggest there are two issues, it does say it can take 3 weeks for DVLA site to be updated when a recall has been addressed.

Yes two first was sos recall second is the radar for the auto brake assist thing

Yeah must be legit as it said I was all good after I checked it after the 1st recall and now it says a new recall as of yesterday (6th April) so it's been updated to warn me... oh well a little trip out in it and I will enjoy that! :p  (y)

Finally got an official letter from Toyota explaining it's the precollision sensor that needs adjusting so this is my 2nd recall following the SOS button one last year... booked in tomorrow and there's a coffee shop next door so I will enjoy the blast out... :p  (y)

Apparently if that sensor needs to be replaced the part alone is over £1k.

Best let them do it under warranty now then haha! 😅
My system has always worked fine but I want the car to have a clean record so I've been in for the 6 month check, 1st and now 2nd recall tomorrow. The 1st service was professional from the main dealer too. They treat you well... ☺️

The letter i received today says "there is a chance your car is fitted with an uninitialised PCS sensor, so may not be able to detect obstacles."

I can confirm mine was initialised, as it beeps at nearly every parked car....

Yeah, mine is beeping with the 'Brake!' message a lot more since the recall. No slamming on of the brakes yet, but still irritating because the warning pulls my attention away from the road rather than focusing it.

Madness, isn't it? If there was indeed a hazard that I needed to brake for and I had yet to respond to, surely the last thing I should do is look at the dashboard and not the road ahead???

Unless the lawmakers expect us to train ourselves to instinctively slam on the brakes any time a car beeps at us, just in case.
