GR86 Rattles

Pretty much since I picked my car up in September, there's been a rattling noise in my driver's door. Now I think I've got a rattle in my dash. Is this a common issue?

When you hear the rattle in your driver's door, check to see if it's the window/mirror/door lock control module rattling. That seems to be the source for mine.

I've also got rattles coming from the dash somewhere so you're not alone.
 
Same here. Also have an annoying one from the rear but think I’ve diagnosed that as the towing eye cover. Easy fix that one!
 
A few rattles are part of the old-skool charm!

If you think it's bad now, wait until the winter and the temperature drop...

At the rear, where the bumper attaches underneath, the clips don’t pull very tight . If you give the rear ‘diffuser’ a tap it rattles at the joint in the picture.

Ive popped the clip open and put a small square of double-side foam number plate tape between the 2 surfaces. Has solved that rattle… onto the next one…

I took it into the garage yesterday and 3 people said they couldn't hear the rattle/buzzing in the door. I had a thought today of increasing the bass in the equaliser and sure enough, it's very audible. If I push the ring around the mirror dial, it stops buzzing. I'm guessing it's not that widespread of an issue, so I'll see if they can do anything the next time I take it in.
 
I think I've fixed the dash rattle/buzz issue. Weirdly it's the A pillar trim, even though it sounded like it was coming from the dash speaker grills. I bought some thick foam tape from Amazon, cut it to length and then put a chamfer on one side so I could let the foam overhang by a few mm without the adhesive sticking to other things/collecting dust.

I've stuck it on the forward edge of the pillar trim, where it sits against the windscreen.
