GR86 Post your best update to your GR86 so far

1. Fix the lack of front camber and rest of geo, now at 2 degree
2. Set tyre pressure at 2.2bar cold /also swapping tyres to Advan Sport V107
3. Brake pads and fluid upgrade
4. Verus throttle pedal spacer (Cusco extension would likely be nearly as good but not as OEM looking)
5. Disable fake engine sound / HKS exhaust / Intake mod (Still sound kinda tame for all that money spent)

Best value to least value

Looking forward to fix the anti squat to increase rear traction whenever I can get the MCA Traction mod V2 whenever it's out
Number one is on the list when I put the PS4s back on in the late spring.

I got the dealer to turn off the auto air recirculation which removed a major source of irritation! They couldn’t work out how to change the door unlock settings but I managed to do that myself with Techstream, which was not without headaches due to my ancient laptop 😩
But my best update was fitting a Mod Society mirror module.
My next update will be to try and solve the blasted rattle coming from the bootlid/rear window area 😖

Can you lock the car without the mirrors folding with the mirror module installed? and does the inside button still work as before?

The mirrors fold every time you lock it, and yes, you can still use the inside button.
This isnt supposed to be a dig, but i couldnt think of another way to phrase it... What do you do when it's frozen, Grab some popcorn and watch the mechanism chew itself to pieces? Or just leave the car unlocked.

Removing the dead pedal was a good one for me. It enabled me to stretch my long legs a bit more although I'm looking forward to steering wheel spacer that I've ordered.

For £150, the Focal speakers are a bargain.

That's it. Have considered buying 16" white rally style wheels with winter or all season tyres but in spite of initial plans the car stays in the garage when there's snow, ice or salt on the roads.

I think it would be the case with all automatic mirrors that they always fold in when the car is locked, unless there’s a setting somewhere to disable it. Mine worked fine when we had the recent cold snap 👍🏻

My worked fine a few weeks ago when it was -6°C.

Good to know. I've broken folding mirror in the past when it tried to open on a frozen morning.

I just hit the junctions with deicer before opening the cars, with them fitted. Some stick in really as weather but when heating the glass they soon thaw out. Never a problem.

Where did you get your Focal speakers? Did you fit them yourself? Thanks,

I got mine from Amazon but occasionally they come up for sale cheaper elsewhere.

Fitting is pretty painless. Remove a few screws, pull the doorcard off, detach a few wires and then the speaker is a direct replacement.

The tweeters on the dash are easier to access but a bit more fiddly.

Replying to my own post to add one...raising the height of the rear view mirror. Sounds a bit silly but I hadn't realised that you can bring the whole mirror closer to the roof via the pivot on the windscreen.

It does make quite a difference to my view to the left.

OH!

I completely forgot you can do this! I did it in the old car, hadn't really thought to do it in the new one too. Thanks for the reminder!

This bugged me so much for the first few days of owning the car until I realised you could push up close to the roof. The position it was in from the factory/dealer created a massive blind spot for me.

Easy to do??
Yeah, if it's like the old car, the mirror has two pivot points on the supporting arm....one where it attaches to the glass and another right behind the mirror glass Whereas most mirrors only have a single pivot point. So you can adjust the mirror upwards at the pivot on the windscreen, then tilt the actual mirror glass down to compensate for the angle shallower angle of the arm. The mirror is pushed up closer to the headliner and obstructs your view a little less. Hard to explain in words but if you look at it next time you're in the car
