I’ve searched and not quite found an answer to something that’s annoying me (I’m afraid it is one of those “on other cars I’ve been able to…” threads): with smart entry and double locking (set by Toyota I presume), I have to use the key fob and press twice within 5 seconds to let the passenger in? Really? I can’t find a setting to change this, surely (I know!) it’s my choice to unlock the doors, plural, once with smart entry? Ok, it’s mostly me in the car, and that’s easy and works well, but when it’s not I have to grin politely and fumble for the key again, with passenger giving me that “ahem” look. Only had it for 2 weeks, probably get used to it/first world problems eh??

Hi barkerc2024 ,
I feel your pain. This can be changed at dealership or you can search this forum for coding-via-service-departments.

I understand your dilemma. I am usually the only one in the car so it's not a problem, and if I have a passenger, because I disable keyless entry on the fob, it's not a problem for me to press the open door button twice. I am taking my car in Thursday for them to disable the fake sound and to get the windows working on the fob. I did contemplate getting both doors opening with the keyless function but decided against it as the doors don't auto lock after 10 mph like most other cars. So this would leave my passenger door unlocked unless I lock it from the inside. So for security I am leaving it as it is.

I guess it’s one of those quirks, and I will have to get used to it. It some seem ‘less configurable’ than what I’m used to, hmm…

Nah, get it changed via dealer, while you there add in open / close for windows via fob.

There is a GR Zoo thread on software coding, and many a dealer tech has read it to do the work 🤣👍

Ive had a Pandora Alarm installed on my 2024 JDM GR86. The alarm allows, lock cars once in motion, unlock when engine is switched off. Also window & mirror module installed, so when the car is locked, windows close fully & wing mirrors fold up. Only thing that the module doesn't do is to drop?open whens when the car is off.
