GR86 Passenger Airbag Off Light

Hi folks,

Does the passenger airbag on/off light turn off on your cars? It is constantly on in the overhead in my car and is annoying at night. Anyone else experiencing this?

I assumed t was a poor design, but I was looking at the manual it says this should turn off after the engine is on.

I did the same as this. I'd be interested if there's a definitive answer though...because I too, thought it was very bad design to have an illuminated panel at eye level right in your eyeline. As you say, it's irritating at night on an unlit road.

Found an answer using the Subaru BRZ manual - "SRS off" light on all the time when no passenger, "SRS on" light on all the time with passenger seated.
Stupid decision - but it is by design, so I at least know no malfunction.

So basically you have a light on to tell you it's on or a light on to tell you it's off? That bit of design must have been done on one of those "bring your child to work" days.
 
Thanks for above, I noticed is was x2 off when I drove earlier, made me wonder if it had not been activated in PDI. Luckily Im not tall so its a bit above my eye line but it seems daft. Do a check like when ignition on sequence then let it go off if no issues!
 
That airbag light annoys me too. Would be great to find out how to handle it without sticking things on it.
