Dumb new-to-toyota question: I've got my first service coming up next week, and have been sent numerous links to 'check in online'. What is this? Is this their way of confirming I'm going to show up or something else? Do I need to do this in advance of turning up, or when I'm there?

I'd did that in advance of my 'yet to happen service'. It doesn't ensure that they have the oil filter in stock for your visit though
