GR86 Oil over filled

Just checked my oil and it’s 1-1.5cm above the max mark.

Anyone else checked theirs?

Always read the side of dip stick that's lower than the other side. Did you check both of them ?
Also it should be done 5 min after warm engine has been shut down.
Subaru engines are known for their unreadable dip sticks. It used to cause confusion when it comes to checking oil level for years.

Not checked mine yet. What you have reminded me is it is vital you check your oil level during run in! My GT86 consumed a whole litre during the first 1000 miles which caught me off guard when I checked it to find it was just off the minimum level. Never used a drop afterwards. This isn't unheard of, I suspect the FA24 will be the same. A couple of US owners have had engine failures due to low oil levels.

Yeah, one side was way higher, picture was the lowest side. But that was cold, just been and warmed it up and left it 5mins and now pretty much spot on.

Strange it needs a warm engine, as the oil will still be draining down from the head.

Mine's within 3/4 of the upper mark for about 800km. There's a good amount of RTV stuck on the dipstick though...

Don't have a picture but looks similar to this one:

Apparently when you insert the dipstick it scrapes a blob of RTV at the end of the travel... I've seen a video of it inside the oil pan.
