GR86 Odd smell under acceleration

Has anyone else noticed an odd, unpleasant smell under hard-ish acceleration? I’ve only noticed it under the first acceleration event after warming the car up, but it does happen every time.

I think it smells like warm cat pee, but my partner thinks it smells more like warm/hot rubber or plastic.

Ahhhh, now that you mention the weird cat piss smell, I’ve had this too. Doesn’t happen every time though, only noticed it once or twice after a cold start.

I assumed it was something outside coming through vents or something to do with run-in as it went away pretty quick.

Could well be, but mine is coming up to 3k miles now. Would have thought that would be gone by now. Perhaps the cold weather kept it around? Will see how things go as it warms up.

Glad it’s not just me at least! I know what you mean about the smell after a cold start, I get that too. The accelerating one is less pungent but definitely noticeable.
