Having used my car as a daily and for a road trip to Yorkshire, I’m finally going to surpass the 5000 miles mark today. In the past few months I have noticed some weird low-pitched buzz noise from the fan coming up. At first I thought it were static from the radio signal or the speakers themselves, but only today did I troubleshoot it and found it to be the interior fan. The noise is not loud but is certainly annoying over long drives.
Also, does anyone have a high-pitched whining motor noise when turning the steering wheel quickly? For example, it’s very noticeable when doing a three point turn. It’s an electric kind of noise given the high frequency. I didn’t notice the sound being there when I collected the car, and only noticed it during the road trip. I‘ve had a 10 year old BMW F20 with EPAS before but it never whined under similar conditions. I saw that some GT86 Owner’s complained about the same issue, but I’m not sure if it’s really supposed to be like this.
I’ll take my car to the dealer for the first issue when I’m free (pretty busy job hunting at the moment). I’ll post updates here
