I'm not used to changing tyres after only 18,000 miles. But I prefer an empty bank account rather than a full coffin.
So what tyres did I choose ?. Well, I stayed with Michelin but went for Primacy 4 S1. Why did I choose this tyre. That's easy to explain, I use my car as a daily and live in the UK, so need tyres that are economical with good grip in the wet.
Looking forward to see how they perform , fuel saving, noise, grip and mileage. My original set covered 18,000 miles in 3.5 years. Hopefully I will be giving you an update in 5 years time.

18,000 miles is good going. 12,000 max for me on the last 3 cars I’ve owned 🤗 I like grip though.

Why the sad face, is it due to the festive season or my choice of tyre ?
 
I imagine the tyre. The Yaris deserves the best and the Primacy is the kind of thing that gets fitted to taxis and the like. It's not exactly a high performance tyre.

Might actually be okay if you want a bit more slip, but I doubt the turn-in and roadfeel will be improved by the softer sidewalls of a touring tyre.

I found the PS4S fine in the wet, and I note that Michelin give both them and the Primacy 4 S1 the same 'A' wet rating so I'm not sure there's much between them in that regard.
 
I daily mine here in the uk and have recently moved over to the Cross Climate 3 sport for our winter months.
I’m a big fan of the PS4s and will still be using them when the weather picks up again.
First impressions of the CC3s are very very good, you loose a bit of feel on initial turn in but the outstanding overall grip definitely makes up for that. We had a bit of monsoon weather here in the midlands last week and in all honesty these were like sh!t to a blanket, far superior to the pilot sports in the cold wet weather.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but have experience of the Crossclimate.
They are not great movers of water when they start to wear - aquaplaning wasn't unusual.

Cross climate 3 sport you have experience of?
And on what car please?
Would love more information because the new CC3 sport is a different design and compound to its predecessor.

I’m getting a set of these fit tomorrow on my S4. The previous versions I found had everything other than lateral grip. The CC3S tyres have new technology in the carcassing along with a new compound apparently so I’m looking forward to giving them a try.

I’ve been blown away with them to be honest, would be good to hear how you find them.

They were CC2's I had looking at the receipts, so apologies for that.
I'm glad you are happy with them given the cold temps we are having.
Would be interested in your continuing feedback on them.

Update on my tyre choice, plenty of standing water this evening so a great chance to see how these tyres deal with it. Chucked it in track mode and went searching for standing water. The new rubber didn't disappoint, they were very grippy even through deep puddles.
