GR Yaris New here, questions aimed around West Yorkshire

Hi All,

I picked up a 21 plate GR Yaris last Friday with full Toyota service history and 12000 miles on it. The thing is amazing and it's pure driving pleasure. I'm keen to maintain the servicing on it as I expect to keep this for a number of years. I've a few questions about it if anybody would be so kind to share some experience please?

• I wondered if any of you have experience with the 2 local Toyota dealers near me in either Silsden or Bradford? Any good? One better than the other? Avoid at all costs? I'm based in Ilkley.
• Would you recommend taking your own oils in when getting a service done, or is it a little too late after 12000 miles for worry about such things? I want to get all fluids done, box, transfer, diff, etc
• I've read good reports about C-Tech performance, recommended? Do you know where they are based?

I've already gained some great advice from various posts on here, so thanks to everyone for that, and thanks in advance for any help with the above. Cheers

No experience of those 2 dealers, but many a forum member takes the trip to RRG Macc where @Richard Mckay will look after you.

Nigel @ctecperformance is on the forum, so worth dropping him a message - he's also very much a @ravenoluk brand advocate, so worth having a chat with him.

Welcome to the forum, I too travel 200 miles to RRG Mac as the technician also owns a GRY as well as Richard.
 
Welcome! Another recommendation for RRG Mac here. They have a constant stream of GR Yarises there, and for me the peace of mind knowing that they are used to working on the car is worth it. Great excuse for a drive through the Peak District too. I usually ask them to swap all the drivetrain oils, and it's never any trouble, guessing it's a pretty standard request.
 
I will contact RRG and get booked in, I don't need much of an excuse for a drive atm so this is perfect. Thank you all!

I bought mine at RRG Bradford and have a service plan with them.

Their customer service has been very good. I've only had the first service though, which is little more than an oil change, so don't have experience of asking for things off-piste or warranty claims etc.

I'd expect the technicians to be qualified to work on the car at whichever dealership you choose, but I know a lot of people particularly rate RRG Macclesfield.

Thanks, I've just got off the phone with Macclesfield and booked in there, I found it very reassuring when I told the lady I'd been recommended to go there due to the car I have, to which she replied "do you have a GR Yaris"
I'd be interested to see how you get on there going forward?
 
I’ve got a service plan with Vantage In Leeds, but it’s not been in yet since I’ve owned it. The previous owner had all the work done. Time will tell I guess
 
Thanks for all the replies, I took the car in a couple of weeks ago to RRG, had a good chat with Richard and heard all about his modified GRY, also chatted with another customer with a modified GRY, got some great service and good to have the car looked over by people who know what they're doing, had the rear diff old changed as well so just need to keep up with old changes etc now.
Was worth the trip over to get over Holme moss and the cat and fiddle, made all the better with pretty heavy rain all day too! The car excelled on those roads in those conditions. Thanks all.
