More GR cars to come....

Here is a new video of the upcoming Toyota GR GT3 car and damn this is just one sexy car. I mean the potential road version will very likely have a six-figure price tag but it might very well be worth it.

Another article from Autocar, but does appear something is happening with Celica, MR2 & GR86.

Would be crazy if we really get all of those though.

Depends on the specs but I think I would take the MR2 out of those. A mid-engined sports car from Toyota that hopefully doesn't cost 6 figures sounds pretty good to me. Obviously the GR GT3 is the dream but very likely unobtainable for us mere mortals.

I am starting to think the 2030 deadline will be put back as there is an increasing push back against total EV.
I drive a hybrid as daily and really like it in EV mode so would think that is the best way to go with new models from now on - unless these three ne cars are such a small planned number they will sell them without the UK and EU countries. German makers have recently stated they are putting petrol engines back into their new cars along side smaller EVs. Would they be doing that unless they are hearing whispers about the deadlines (2035 in EU) being pushed back. I know a few people including myself who are not buying another new car till the future is sorted. I had given notice for the cash to trade my Yaris Cross in and then decided to keep it a few more years so cancelled the cash transfer. I love buying new cars so if I am holding on to the car due to uncertainty then how many others are also doing it.

I’m a firm believer in Hybrid is the way forward for now.

Same. When the holy trinity came out around 10 years ago I said then that's the way forward. Porsche's latest 911 GTS has similar tech now too. Hybrid to make electric faster. There's still a weight penalty but a lot better than pure electric. If they can mass product carbon tubs so ordinary cars have them, then we'll be on to something.

Harry's Garage had a good review of new GTS. nice car, but couldn't figure out its point. Car market is in general in big confusion at the moment, hybrid's getting overly complicated and expensive to maintain, which can lead to higher depreciation. More similified EV's look like a better approach, if only they got the weight and range problems sorted.
