GR86 K & N Panel Filter

Have been away from the forum for far to long, due to life getting in the way!
So, not being too mechanically minded, was thinking of replacing the standard air filter with a K & N panel filter. My questions are:-
Is this a straight replacement?
Would it affect the warranty?

In your opinion, Is the panel filter a worthwhile option, or do you think the cold air intake is a better option?
Car only used weekends and high days, never likely to go on a track. Just looking for a bit more of an oral sound (to compliment the cobra back box)

I have the Blitz one bought from Fensport. I didn’t want oiled potentially messing up MAF sensor. Straight swap out in under a minute. Throttle response seems better but any performance gains will be placebo effect. Same for induction noise. Zero change.

What he said . Filters make between little to zero difference on their own. I have a K&N filter in mine and you wouldn't know it. As for cold-air intakes, they can make the engine bay look cool for car shows, but a few published tests have proven them to reduce performance for the benefit of some induction sound.

Easy to do as per video, remove few clips, take out old one and put new one in.
Easy to replace come service time if worried about warranty.
I have a Blitz blue panel filter if interested for sale as I went the full hog and put in a induction kit.

I had one in mine. Straight swap easy to do. The difference wasn't night and day but if you're after a small improvement in intake sound then go for it.
