Eyup!
As per the thread title, I'm in the early stages of planning an epic drive from John 'O GRoats to Land's End, for no reason other than to be able to say "Done that!"
I've mocked up a provisional route, but rather than going directly, or the quickest route it takes in the best that Scotland, Wales and the bottom right hand corner of England have to offer. Roughly 1300 miles of mostly twisty, scenic roads, with the odd little bit of motorway thrown in, but only where absolutely necessary.
The plan is to take a day to get up there, then spend a week getting to Land's End, with one more overnight stop before heading home.
Obviously, that's for me, living in Barnsley. It will differ for everyone else. Which brings me on to my next point...
I don't really fancy doing it alone, so am looking for some other like minded fools to join in, hence this thread
Provisional dates I'd be looking at are Friday 10th April (Weekend after easter) to get up t'North, and then 7 days of up to 200 miles a day. This may not sound like much, but when you're stopping to take photos and have a bite to eat it's plenty, trust me.
So, right now I'm looking for expressions of interest. No set limits for the number of cars or people, as what I'll most likely do is share the towns for the overnight stops and let everyone sort out their own hotels.
Routes will be made available to all who wish to come along. Let's see if we can make it a BIG one!
