In praise - sort of - of the manual gearbox, from an unlikely source

As a woke, liberal elite left-leaning tofu (amongst other things) eating third sector worker, I am partial to a read of The Guardian from time to time.

Imagine my surprise to see an article there, lauding (albeit in a very Guardian-esque, nuanced way) the joys of the manual gearbox.

Anyway, thought some of you good folk might appreciate it.

I'm not a tofu fan, but love being part of the wokerati, even if I despise Jazz and trousers that are too short. Loved this sentence though:

As a First Aid course instructor said to me once , "Its like sex , anything is better than nothing " If you cant find 'em grind 'em but dont give up on the 3rd Pedal . Of course the flappy paddle variant will always be faster than the manual,,,,, How else would manufacturers sell them ?

automatic transmissions are nowadays more economical, faster, easier to use in commuting etc. so its kind of win win for manufacturers and consumers, thus it gets quite bit of appraising even everything is maybe so black and white.
