Should be picking up this coming week so as can imagine this last month have lost countless watching Youtube videos and reading Forum posts about GR86's! - had lots of useful information from this site already
a wee bit about me / cars etc
From central Scotland, started out Peugeot fan (older folk may remember Rallye's) then got taken in by Toyota, my user name may give a clue as had always been a fan of mk1 MR2's since childhood and have had a few (still own a JDM supercharger!) and for many a year ran a mk2 MR2 Rev5 Sonic Shadow as a daily before rust started to take hold. From there moved to a Porsche 981 Cayman, whilst a good car had higher expectations for it or maybe I was just unlucky as found that the build quality severely lacking to what I had in my head together with the 'Porsche Tax' / various errors / problems whilst independant specialist helped me out still wasnt cheap and finally gave in and decided to move to a GR86. Expecting it to be more like my MR2's with fun and feedback at slightly lower speeds and without the big bills to constantly worry about but will see.

Welcome from the top of the Scottish Borders (Biggar). Certainly remember the Rallye’s editions of the Pug’s, so that makes me old then…. D’oh!
Are you sourcing the 86 locally or from afar? Anything been added to it?
Coming from a 981 you will probably find the 86 ‘light’.

Im in West Lothian, it was a blue series 2 106 Rallye I bought new - showing my age!
Everything going well should be picking up tomorrow a Magnetite Grey 86 from Sunderland area which is pretty much standard.
Yeah looking forward to being back in a fairly light car again, although the 981 is lightish comparing to a lot of modern cars to me it also felt quite big in size or maybe its just the smaller windier type of roads I prefer to drive on lol

Hope the incoming 86 scratches the itch and lives up to expectations. 👍🏻

Would be great to see pictures of the MR2’s if you have any, They’re a rare sight out on the roads these days!

a few MR2 pics, mk1 is from ages ago, am sure folks will recognise location of mk2 ones!

Great backdrops! Sadly the furthest north I’ve managed to get is Fort William and Aberdeen. Both occasions I wasn’t in anything interesting to drive and to make matters worse the weather was suitably Scottish so I was robbed of the stunning views too! 🤣

mk2 photos from Applecross which lot of people probably heard of - went on many a MR2 highland drive back in the day, would recommend the roads on west coast over the east but all can be fun!

Weather wasn't the best today for picking it up, think it was clean for maybe the first 5 miles, still managed to enjoy the 150 odd miles back home missing motorways where I could. As you's already know they really let you feel involved in the driving experience and as a result so far have no regrets moving to one
Fairly mucky pics part way through driving home!
