GR Yaris How to hear the engine better

Hi,
I've adapted the pedals to make heal and towing easier, but find the quite engine the next issue with matching engine revs to speed. If the revs are high enough (above 4000rpm) then the engine noise through the speakers works, but below this the only way is to watch the rev counter (I'd rather watch the road).

Is there any way of allowing me to hear the engine revs when below 4000rpm? (other than an aftermarket exhaust of course)
 
Switch off ese (fake noise) and learn to hear the real engine noise. It's actually just fine as is after some getting used to. Imho
 
I've seen some people recommend removing some of the sound deadening, instead of induction kits

I feel like the jury is still out how well any of them filter compared to the standard filter?
 
I use larger snorkel with stock airbox - does the trick for me. Stock exhaust. No much turbo noise but more intake noise still..
 
Am I the only one who (when it’s warm enough) drives with the windows slightly open so I can hear the engine and turbo sounds? The wind noise isn’t that different to when the windows are closed 😆

not really. But you may have some luck fishing the soft padding out of the stock intake which increases induction noise a little bit.

It's hilarious how many of the usability hacks are ones I've done to my Meg!

Even some of the flaws are similar, the rear view is a bit shit, and the over the shoulder check is next to useless... yep, just like my Meg :LOL:
