I am in this forum since a short time and forgot to introduce myself. Sorry for that, I will catch up on that right now......
I am Markus (or Nick), way above 40, and since about 3 weeks proud owner of a Subaru BRZ. At first I ordered a GR86, but as I got no confirmation if that is going to be delivered at all, I switched to the BRZ, which by the way suits better for me. Long time to wait for delivery, though.
I am working in the automotive industry, long time in engine development (so I like the boxer also because of professional reasons), and changed over to battery development last year. I like that job, old one and new one, and the company I am working for (mostly, not always). But as time goes by I am facing my retirement next year.
So this is the car to garantee further excitement and to play around with for the next years.
I have driven many cars in the last 20 years, due to my job, partially with >>500hp, but never before one that is putting a smile on my face at this price level. Or at that performance level. So my choice seems to be prooved as a good one.
Nearly no complaints. Tire noise for example: yes. Check. As driving is so easy and reliable, this is the prize that has to be paid. Don't think I will add damping.
Sound system: yes. Check. No reason to buy this car, but usable. And with the adjustment modifications from this forum quite OK.
Keyless go: yes. Cool. Works better than on my basic car, a C300, that I have to return next year.
And so on. As i said: no real complaints.
What else? I am located in the soutern part of germany. With a bit of envy I follow the posts about exhaust systems. Not much allowed here, very soon I will install a Milltek, and then refuse further thinking about that.
Rims on the list as well, but next year. Car is at 1000km roughly, still not quite run in yet.
Fine to be here. I found lots of useful informations, thanks for that!
Wishing all of you a nice weekend and some empty winding roads!!
Nick

Greetings. Love the car and the colour. Great choice. Welcome to the Forum

I too will go Milltek for exhaust swap, resonated. Not just yet though.

Cheers

Your car looks great, I'd have gone for that colour if it was available on the GR86, very Colin McRae!
hey,
thx for like & reply.
Yes, very McRae 😁
The GR would have been grey - I saw it and fell in love. No option for the BRZ, but the blue is fine for me as well.

Welcome to the forum! I think you're not too far away from my place, feel free to get in contact with locals (like me) for a chat and a coffee and technical info... BTW your job sounds a bit familiar and you are younger than me . Who cares, you're young at heart, which is most important.

Greetings from Neulingen Fred

Thx!
Milltek is ordered, the version with carbon tips. Only delivery open. Will be this year, I am curious for the result.

Welcome, your car looks great in that colour with the lighter wheels rather than the black on the GR86.
I’ve had the Milltek resonated on my car for a few months, and I’m still happy with it - louder enough to hear a difference but not obnoxious.

Willkommen Markus! Beautiful car, I love the WRB. You just a need a set of gold wheels and it'll be perfect πŸ˜‰
Thankyou......
I looked around already for wheels (of course, while waiting for delivery.....). I am more tending to bronze currently. Gold is cool, but I have seen that too often already.
If I had to buy now, I would land at Tomason. The TN25 Superlight are really what they are called like, and nonetheless payable.
And bronze is available 😎
Cheers - Nick

Willkommen Nick, lovely choice you have made and Germany certainly has it fair share of good driving roads that are ideal for your car. Like you I have driven more powerful cars but have decided to step away from that race and get back to what is really important and thankfully when we thought all hope was lost, they pulled it out of the bag at the 11th hour. Enjoy turning up the wick (y)

They are really nice. My car is magnetite grey and I fancy some bronze wheels next year. These are now on the list πŸ‘
